Coleen has stated that she doesn't dare to try to skate faster. Everyone else tries to push themselves, Coleen has admitted that she does not try in that case. Ellery was a lot older than her and Melinda is nearly 40, and Melinda tries a LOT harder.

It's probably down to the desire for many people to vote for a losser rrather then the best performer.

Tonight I would hve but Collen & Melinda or possibly Donnel
In the bottom two with Collen going.”

You've misspelt that word by either

a. adding an extra "s"

or

b. mistaking an "l" for a "t"

She is as bad as Jason, her attitude don't do it for anyone, remember this is a talent competition, not a popularity contest, so get it right people”

But it is a popularity contest, that is what the public vote is for, that is why its celebrities who partake and not just already qualified ice skaters. The judges role is to vote for the most technically skilled and the public's role is to vote for their favourite. Just because the public isn't voting for your favourite doesn't undermine their decision imo. People will vote for those who endear themselves, and I can perfectly understand why people vote for Coleen over Jessica and Zoe who reek of desperation.

And it is just a tv show. If Ray goes out before Coleen the world isn't going to implode.

Either way, it's unfair that Stuart is going to have to skate with two props.

Ellery and Melinda are fitter people. Coleen is embarrassingly unhealthy for her age.

Incorrect. Qualified ice skaters don't take part because it's about celebrities learning to skate. They can't learn if they already know how, can they?

It's not designed to be a popularity contest. It's designed so people can vote for their favourite ice dancer. That's not necessarily the highest rated by the judges - someone might like Donal the best because he improved the most, or Roxanne or Zoe because their performance is more charismatic, or whatever else. They are genuine reasons related to the skating, where people will vote differently than the leaderboard.

There is no genuine reason related to skating for people to vote for Coleen.

But Coleen has had weeks and weeks of fairly intensive training with professional skaters.

As I mentioned in another thread, in countries with more ice, people of many different ages and fitness levels learn to skate well enough that they can skate around on the ice, turning as needed, without holding on to anyone.

It still looks like Coleen would have trouble skating once around the rink. If it really is so hard for her to learn to skate, I have to wonder why she wanted to be in this show.

Never seen such a load of twaddle as that result! Jessica is easily the best female skater left. Coleen can barely stand up! She may be a laugh but we're supposed to be voting for the skating. Or so I thought.

Did anyone else here Jason make a remark just after the skate off??something to the effect of "personality verus technically ability" and I thought he was commenting that while Jess was good technically she had no personality. Also the fact that she skated in a competition before may be going against her. Still think Colleen should be well gone.

I took it that he meant that the competition was supposed to be about technical ability and he was glad that he could make his choice on that basis.

I also thought it was a comment about how superior Jessica was, that he didn't have to use subjective judgement.

I "know" stuff like it happens. I "don't see what the big deal is" making a fuss about it all because it happens.

That is what I ment, I sometimes confuse people with my words. Sorry

I agree that he judged her on her technical ability but he also judges on "showmanship". I though it was a strange comment coming when it did. I commented on it at home when he made it and that was my read on it. She has a fabulous figure and can skate but she is not endearing IMO.
