Could someone check the maths but I think the consequence of tonights vote is that we now know this.

From second in the judges vote to get to the bottom two Jessica has to have less public votes than anyone but Melinda. If they had less public votes they would be in the bottom two not her.

If she has 6 ponts from the judges and is either last or next to last with the public her combined total will go up by 1 or 2 points respectively.

That means Jessica had a comnined total from the judges and public of 7 or 8 points.

Colleen has to beat this or equal it with more public votes or she would have been in the dance off. She starts of with 1 point from the judges for coming last. She therefore needs another 6 or 7 points from the public to escape and push Jessica into the dance off. She did. To get 6 or 7 points from the public vote she must be second or first in it.

Is the maths right? Is she second or first in the public vote? If so thats more surprising even than Jessica being near the bottom of it?

This is one of the strangest weeks actually.. I dont think that on both DOI or SCD has someone who was second in the leaderboard THIS EARLY been in the Bottom 2.

Donal has to be at least second or third or he would have ended up in the dance off too. Makes you wonder where Ray, Zoe and Roxy are and how the show will avoid losing the competition to Ray before the final or having someone with no votes taking on Ray or a complete dud taking on Ray.

Assuming the scoring system works in the same way as Strictly, which ITV never actually explain...

I'm sure you're right, but why do they never explain this, beyond the 50% judges, 50% public thing? Not even on the website. I just find it strange, especially after all the fuss over the Strictly scoring system, that ITV don't explain it more clearly.

Whatever the system is, I'm very disappointed in the public after tonight's result. Coleen and/or Roxanne should have been in the skate-off. Maybe they'll get it right next week.

If Colleen came second in the vote, Jessica would've had to be bottom in the public vote, I think. If Colleen came first, then it's a possibility that Jessica finished above Melinda, but was in the skate off because public vote took preference.

Coleen has had more insults directed at her this week, so if anything her vote share is very likely to increase next week.

To my knowledge, the system is exactly the same as the SCD system, whereupon the judges score is converted into points, and then the public vote is too. I don't know whether I read this, heard this or taking a guess though.
