The camera work on this show is rubbish!

They shift from one camera to another at key points, so that we miss exactly what happens.

Some of the shots are so distant that we can hardly see what they're doing.

It seems to be at its worst with Jessica. At one point this week, she was completely out of shot and we could see only her partner. (Then they did it again during the skate off!) A few weeks back, they were just showing the lights at one point.

(I saw a similar complaint about how this Ray's routine was shown this week, but I don't think he was ever completely out of shot, even though at one point he could only just be seen. I haven't checked the others.)

Yeah, it's usually fairly bad with Jessica. Whatever Pavel was doing when they took the camera off Jessica looked fairly interesting (or at least skilful) and I bet they were doing it identically, opposite to each other

I happened to read a similar comment about the cameras in Ray's routine, so I thought I'd better mention it. Then I though I'd better watch the routine again to see just how bad it was.

And if the show can't even do a good job of showing the best skaters ...

As with Strictly he camera angles and editing does spoil the show. Remember how the bad camera editing nearly ruined the enjoyment of watching Britain's Got Talent?
I must admit that I was annoyed by the smoke covering the ice when Chris and Jane skated, but then we wouldn't have been shown their feet anyway thanks to the editing which only likes to show the top halves of the skaters.
At least the manic audience were quieter this week.

i hate the camera angles/zooms too; rather they just 'followed' them.

At the beginning of Ray and Maria's routine the camera goes completely to Maria - 0:27 - and they werent even moving over the ice! Definately took the edge off my enjoyment of the routine last night, so I am doubly grateful to those who upload them to YT as I enjoyed it far more watching again just now.

Unfortunately, none of the other contestant's routines are uploaded yet, but I am sure they all get their fair share of bad shots and angles.

I thought the camera work was worse than ever this week.

There defiantely moments in this weeks' show when the camera wasn't on the celebrity at all & we missed seeing some footwork - I think at one point during the compulsary element. I hope it doesn't get too like SCD & we start missing the important stuff!
The cameras will have to be on form for props week next week!

You're right. Thanks for spotting that!

Perhaps; but it's a problem if any of them are getting such poor camera work, and the show doesn't seem inclined to show even the best skaters properly.
