Hi
I've recently brought a laptop so I loaded on the software to the lap top but when I connect the player it says 'player not connected' and will charge but won't dock and let me add
media.
Any ideas?

Does it have any drivers? If so install them. The USB port outputs electricity so yes it would charge, but check your device manager (start>right click my computer>properties>hardware>device manager). Try that and see if anything has an exclamation or question mark next to it. But if it has drivers install them.
