He looks like he just was lounging about watching telly then thought, shit i need to be on American idol! so legged it to the studio and didnt have time to change.

I think that is why he's made no effort tonight with his clothes!

I know I said in the spoilers Ryan looked like a random guy walking down the street or something. I really think he didn't have time to dress up.

Ryan claims he's not gay that's like saying Randy isn't black. LOL!!!

It's always been more casual than X Factor. Simon always wears a suit for X Factor live shows but only wears one for the AI final, IIRC. Louis often wears suits and ties, Dermot is always in a suit and Dannii and Cheryl dress up properly.

But Ryan really isn't dressed for the part tonight, more informal than usual. I know it's a small thing, but it makes the thing look a bit flat and less of an event. It wouldn't hurt for them to dress up a bit.

Well, Simon claims he isn't gay too.....then proceeds to flirt openly with Ryan( a man believed by many to be gay) on Idol and on Ryan's radio show.

I think the smaller studio they perform in to the prior rounds to the top 12, looks pretty small. With a huge crowd and hot studio lights and can understand why they'd choose only wear t-shirts. I think it may be more to define the top 12 as the main event too. As to is he isn't he, I don't know, don't think it's my business is the way I view things unless I'm told officially. No-one usually ever deliberates I wonder if they're straight. That's just me though everyones perspective is different .

I noticed how casual he looked this week, and I've never noticed his clothes before. I presumed that he must always go casual in this smaller studio and will vamp it up a bit for the big studio. But perhaps he was just on his way back from the gym this week or something.
