Biggest housing bubble in history, biggest debt burden in history, biggest economic deficit in history, biggest ruination of private pensions in history, nation facing default and biggest bust of modern times. All on Brown's watch.

Yet he'll still walk away with a multi-million pound fund. Why hasn't brown "pledged" to remove his own unacceptable pension?

Oh I do.

Are you a troll, or just having a rant?
You'd be better off with this moved to the Politics forum. You'll get the attention you crave in there.

Trolls often try to drive posts off-topic. That's you. Time to ignore the attention you seemingly crave from me. So, moving on from Ellie the Troll...

The bubble, the debt, the threat of default are all very real - and Brown was the man at the helm. So does Brown really have the moral authority to criticise Goodwin's pension entitlement when he himself will be rewarded for failure?

Gordon Brown gave up his Prime Minster's pension a year ago.

That's a grace and favour pension as PM only. His career pension covering both chancellorship and PM over 12 years remains intact.

Nice to see you over here for a change Turnbull, but did you mean for this to be in the Food and Drink thread or do we have a software glitch?

while he was chancellor: lowest inflation for decades, lowest unemployment since the dark days of the 80s, lowest interest rates ever

let's double his pension

Never mind Gordon Brown, debt burden, ruination of private pensions and falling house prices, the important question is what are you having for dinner tonight?

the concept of performance related occupational pensions is an interesting one...

i do agree with the OP insofar as politicians' outrage fail to extend to themselves
