Fantastic News For Us All - John Sergeant - Could Be Coming Back For D.o.i. 2010!

This really is fantastic news to put a smile on all our faces this morning, a member of prouction has revealed that good old John Sergeant will be bringing his charming and endearing performances to the ice on D.O.I. next year.

What great news to put a spring in the step of the Dancing on Ice show, and good old John Sergeants army of fans who will be celebrating all through the year until they get him to the final of Dancing on Ice 2010.

Message number 15, Strictly Come Dancing board,

'A Prize at Last for John Sergeant'

*************************************************************************

Good old John Sergeant has also been presented with a 'hoofer of the year' award.

Coleen does all those things, is incredibly funny, has a great sense of humour, fantastic personality and tries her best.

I know you like her EL, but she isn't trying at all! She is doing worse now than in the first couple of weeks!

The Great British Public are going to get behind Coleen tonight, and hopefully vote her through.

I agree Sunday Sun.. For me the show is more than just the 'on ice' performances, I watch it for the 'whole' experience', which includes the VT's and the interviews. For me, Coleen is like a breath of fresh air and her off ice antics always make me laugh too. I, for one, would be sorry to see her go, because the show would lose another of its 'characters' and we will be left with 'so so' skaters, which when compared to T&D and the professionals is all the celebrities will ever become during the lifetime of this series.

I'd look forward to it if John were coming. Is it just newspaper talk though?

Oh please tell me it's not true. What on earth is the point?
Either he can skate better than he danced (unlikely) and therefore not the worst or funniest, or he is as bad as Todd and people will just be voting for him out of some misplaced sense of whatever it was inspired them to keep voting for him on SCD.

Please let's save DOI from that sort of daftness.

Coleen supporters clearly don't watch for the skating

Good, so if all Coleen fans are so gaga that they vote tonight then she will get no votes tomorrow and will be out. Excellent!

Why not just watch her on Loose Women, then, and avoid having to put up with the "'so so' skaters"?

Tis a strange phenomena our Coleen. Normally on SCD I only back those with personality and an ability to dance, however, I love watching Coleen, although I recognise she is weakest skater on the show. I find the interaction between her and her partner charming and would rather watch her than some of the other skaters any day.

So come on Coleen!! (works well if someone hums Come on Eileen as accompianment )

If you check my posts (which you seem to have done - creepy or odd?) you will quickly see I view Coleen as uttery contemptible, embarassing and an eyesore.

I enjoyed watching John Sargeant on SCD.

He was lovely to watch doing ballroom, and his American Smooth was totally enchanting.

He couldn't do latin very well, so he made it entertaining and extremely comic.

I know a lot of people can't seem to understand it, but those without hang ups about being a dancing perfectionist really did enjoy his performances, that's why they voted for him. It wasn't "misplaced" or a "sense" of anything, it was because they liked watching him.

Then he got a load of extra votes because of the judges and so many people being rude, and insulting.

I hope John Sergeant doesn't do DOI...he's been on a very similar reality show already and quit...what makes anyone think that a stint on DOI would be any different?
Sure John Sergeant's performances were entertaining, but the manner in which he left made a mockery of the whole show. People voted for him to stay every week on SCD & they'll do the same on DOI. What's to say he won't up & leave again? It's not good for the show...
That's my 2p worth!

Maybe I'm being blind, but where does it say in that article he'll be on DOI?

I'd say we're more likely to see Malcolm Sargent on the ice next year than we are John Sergeant.

And he died in 1967.

Yay - Tabitha!

Nay - wrong thread.

If Sergeant couldn't manage to move particularly well on firm ground, I can't see that he has a chance in hell at staying on two feet on ice!

I hope that isnt true!

i liked him on strictly (especially the paso where he dragged Kristina along) but why would he do another dancing reality show? what would be the point?

Besides, no matter how entertaining he is he couldn't beat Todd skating off down the tunnel

I was responding to two consecutive posts on this thread, which appear to have disappeared so refute that any checking was necessary, creepy or otherwise.

You've got to be joking. He was bad enough on SCD, one non-skater! on DOI is bad enough without having another one in the next series.

I quite agree he was charming and funny for the first few shows and yes I enjoyed those first few performances (especialy the 'draggin' the sack o' spuds one) but it was exactly that point when as you say he got the extra votes just for being bad and being told he wasand people started campaigning to to keep him in purely because of that rather than whether his performance was any good or even amusing or anything that it became absurd and annoying.

I think he was wrong to leave though - I would have enjoyed seeing him voted out by the judges in a dance off.

It's the thought that DOI could be ruined from the start by ex SCD people deciding to vote for him purely because of the SCD fiasco that upsets me. And judging by some comments on here plenty of people would sadly do just that.
