I was wondering if there is a possibility where there can't be any male wildcards.

So far out of the 2 groups, 4 guys and 2 girls are through. Suppose next week 2 guys and 1 girl goes through. That would make altogether, 6 guys and 3 girls into the Top 12.

To keep the male:female split even, wouldn't there only be a possibility of female wildcards allowed to go through?

So people like Anoop Dawg wouldn't be allowed to be in the wildcard round?

NOt gonna happen. Last time they had wildcards, it wasnt the same number of male/female in the top 12.

Anyways, you can be sure Anoop and Jamar are gonna be in the top 12, I can put my money on it. Manner of fact I am thinking of putting a bet on Jamar to win, he must be at like 100/1 or something.

I just hope 2 girls go through next week, so we have at least 5 girls in the top 12.

But to be honest, not many girls have put up a good show this year. The 2 girls in the top 12 are definitely the best out of the ones that have performed. Another man is going to take the title this year I feel.

As for the wildcard, I can see what you're getting at rzt, but i think the wildcard show will have 6 girls and 6 guys. But isn't the decision up to the judges in the wildcard show. So potentially the judges could put through some extra girls.

Who knows, we'll just have to wait and see.

And I disagree that the girls have been worst than the guys. Group 2 shoulve been 1 guy 2 girls judged by the performances. I think the judges comment were unfair, towards Jesse langseth, and also towards Mishavonna. they both sang gre tat, and I thought Megan was better than the guys as well. What other guys blew it out the water in group 1, other than Danny? No one else imo. Not any better than the girls. I think the voters arent going by talent. Its ridiculous how much publicity the guys got, and they get to sing last on both occasions! NOt surprised that both who went last went thorugh.

The judges have been raving in the press about how much better the boys are this season and how its another boys year so i dont think they will be bothered at having more males in the top 12 than females, it just goes with what appears to be the theme of the season.

There were only 2 boys to the 6 girls selected by the public before the wildcard show in season 3 and they still put another 2 girls through from the wildcard show

Its been bad enough that it has to be one girl and one guy in this stupid Final 36, it should be the Best! contestant not just keep the sexes balanced.

Anyway , Anoop has to come back , he's the only one I've liked so far. Out of the 6 that have gone through I think Allison is the only decent one , the first three were terrible, Danny relied on the sympathy vote , Alexis is average but chose a good song whereas the better girls chose awful ones which caused her to go through on the night and don't even get me started on cheesy karaoke guy.

Kris again , is quite average but he'll last on the teen vote and Adam murdered a classic with his weird screeching.

Out of the 6 who have gone through if one had to win I'd say it will be Allison, I reckon they're looking for a Miley Cyrus/Taylor Swift type artist this time to appeal to the teen/High School Musical/Jonas Bros type market , even though she's nothing like them but if she won that would be exactly how she would be marketed

. The group one winners have no chance , Kris isn't good enough and with regards to Adam I feel that he's been hyped way too early and he's quite old compared to how old the successful contestants have been so I doubt the show will want him to win.

I think the winner is in group 3 though as it's the weakest overall so I think they're trying to protect someone in there by putting the crap ones in with them to ensure they go through.

The article clearly states, the wildcards will not be necessarilly from the semi finalists.

The way things are going, I bet a wildcard ends up winning. Adam and Allison are the only ones worth seeing so far that are in the top 12.

That's unfair to be honest , all the finalists have put in at least one performance to date and they have 25 contestants left so why not just choose from them?

I liked Jamar and wanted him to go on to the top 12, let alone top 36, but I don't think it would be fair to give him a wildcard over people who have made the top 36, even if they are crap. They should just let Jamar come back next year.

Maybe they think they made a mistake, and remember, the auditions were months ago, way before the public saw it. And the reaction was pretty strong for Jamar not making it in the top 36. SO I am thinking they just feel the quality will be netter with Jamar. I mean they picked NOm gentle over him, and the dude who forgot his lyrics. SO maybe they realised they made a mistake.

Well Jamar is getting more attention than most of the ppl in the top 36 so what does that tell u? It might be unfair to the other contestants to bring him back but I think it was unfair the way they cut him like that. They cut him for a shady reason anyway but I'm not going bring that up anymore.

To be honest they've shown what 24 contestants already and I haven't been that impressed and Jamar is better than most of these ppl. combined and I really think they need someone like him this year and once again Jamar's name is getting brought up more than ppl who actually made it so I think the judges and the producers need to take a hint at this!

In a show like American Idol where everything is manipulated to the tee I don't feel that there can ever be any "mistakes" , If something happens then it was definetely intended.

Yeah, they knew Jamar deserved to be in the top 36 but wanted to eliminate him or his friend Danny Gokey for the drama. It was pretty obvious from their first auditions something like this would happen. The only surprise to me is that they didn't make Danny and Jamar sing-off against each other before the top 36.

I can definitely see this being the case, that way they got the tearful farewell clip when Jamar was cut, and they'll get the tearful reunion when Jamar gets into the Top 12... I wish this show didn't make me so cynical! Mind you, I think the closing shot of last week (an extreme close-up of one of Danny's friends holding up a photo of Danny with his dead wife) might well be one of the most cynical things I've ever seen on TV, so it's swings & roundabouts I guess...

All that said, I actually don't think it would be fair to invite back contestants who didn't make the top 36, and I can't see them making it all female either... but don't take any notice of me, I'm the only person who wants to see Tatiana in the top 12!

I agree completely, especially with the bolded part! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that! I know the X Factor is bad for sob stories, but Danny's friend holding that picture up at the camera is probably one of, if not "the", most cringeworthy attempts at milking a sob story in the history of any of these shows!

I would like to see Tatiana in the top 12 too. She always annoyed me a little bit but she's also made me laugh, and I thought her performance on the first heat showed some really nice qualities to her voice that I want to hear more of.

I for one dont want Jamar to come back. I think hes a lot better than Danny and a lot of the others, but I think if your out, you should stay out. I could make an exception for Felicia because she was a replacement, but I dont think its right for someone to come back and go through.

Oh but there WILL be at least 2 female wildcards - Megan is a gurantee unless she messes up, and then another female - perhaps Ann Marie or someone from this weeks group. Im hoping for Mishavonna though, and I dont think shes totally out of the equation.

Jamar was good. I'd like to see Matt Giraud have another chance, he was good but he picked an awful song to sing last week.
