Getting ITV HD on FOXSAT-HDR
Please be kind to me - it's my first posting. I've trawled various theads but not found a solution to my problem !
I have set up the FOXSAT-HDR, tuned to FREESAT+ with a Reading postcode. All is fine except that, on the rare occasions ITV broadcast something in HD, I can't access it. I don't get a prompt to press the red button. Going into the program guide and pressing enter or record achieves nothing. The program won't record in SD let alone HD. The only way I have discovered to get it to work is to retune the HUMAX to FREESAT+ while the ITV HD programme is actually being broadcast (I discovered this at half-time during the recent England friendly!). After retuning I do then get the red button prompt on screen and everything works fine. That is until the next ITV HD broadcast. Interestingly, I discovered that if I set the HUMAX to record an ITV HD broadcsast in advance (by going into the program guide, pressing enter and record) I can then watch the program in HD when it is broadcast. But if I cancel the recording during the broadcast, I lose the HD. Any clues to what may be going on? I suppose I could just get used to watching ITV-HD in arrears ! I emailed HUMAX so-called customer services 2 weeks ago but have yet to recieve the courtesy of a reply. Not very impressed |

There have been some ITV programmes that have been advertised as being in HD, but weren't. This might be it. Other than that, I really don't know what's going on. It could be the box, or you might be doing something not quite right. You could try doing a first time install again (factory reset) and see if it continues (you will lose your recording schedule, but not recordings). If it continues, try posting again with a step by step detail of what you are doing and what happens.

Not very impressed If you have 2 try the following to check both tuners and lnb's are functioning. Tune to 108 (BBC HD) press red to start an instant recording. Tune to 951 (BBC 1 CI) start another recording Tune to any other station and press pause, you should be able to pause live TV. If you have one cable plus the loop you can't choose any channel but the following should be viewable and can also be paused 113 ITV 2 115 ITV 3 116 ITV3 + 1 117 ITV 4 121 CH4 + 1 122 E4 Last edited by grahamlthompson : 28-02-2009 at 16:01. Thanks for the suggestions. I tried the factory reset and it seems to have done trick with this evenings ITV-HD broadcast. If I lose the functionality later in the week I'll post again.
