iPod Touch Repairs

Got an iPod Touch. All of a sudden one day the backlight seems to have died in it, went through the Apple support website, to then notice that the Liquid Submersion Indicator was partially activated.

The item has never been near any liquids, let alone submerged in the stuff. Sent it off for a service, which has now been declined due to "accidental damage or misuse" and subsequently voided my warranty. Got an appointment at the Genius Bar on Tuesday.

Just wondered if anyone had any ideas with this one, or where I stood on it? Not happy, and will be requesting proof that the item is water damaged.

The fact that the paper is activated is your proof that is it classed as water damaged, that's the whole idea of it been there, it changes colour when it comes into contact with liquids.

It doesn't necessarily mean that it's been in a bowl full of water with your tea mugs, just possible that some water has condense on the inside of your iPod somehow.

I'm aware of that, but it must have been an very small amount of liquid.
