C5 planning ultimate reality show

Five plans the ultimate reality show

Channel Five is making its biggest single investment in an original programme by pouring nearly £5m into a reality show.
The £4.7m programme, which pits contestants from other reality shows against each other is to be shot in a specially constructed set in Acton, west London, and is due to be broadcast over three weeks early next year.

It will feature either 10 or 12 contestants from programmes such as Big Brother,Survivor and I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!.

Five has not decided exactly when to schedule the show because it wants to avoid clashing with the third series of ITV1's I'm a Celebrity.

Five will launch a red-button interactive TV service in January that will provide round-the-clock live video streaming of the show. Channel 4 already offers such a service for Big Brother and The Salon.

"It's the reality show of reality shows, the biggest we've ever done," said Five's chief executive, Jane Lighting, speaking at a Broadcasting Press Guild lunch today.

I'm just off down to Ladbrokes to put my entire life savings on the odds that PJ will be on it....

Seriously though - you do you think will take part in this C5 show?

I believe that both Helen and Paul were asked and have turned down the option to appear on this.

Trouble is that most (possibly all) of the people who would agree to do it were utter bores first time around. I can't see them attracting anyone entertaining - unless they paid them reasonably well I suppose. £10-20k a week should increase the takers a bit.

I reckon Jade (the slapper from BB3 not the slapper from TBB) would go for it. Her advisors seem to have realised that reality TV is her only chance at a sustained career, so this would be perfect for her.

Nasty Nick would be likely, as well as Narinder, both are trading on BB alone and need something new.

If the rumours that there will be a BB Gold in a few years time are true I wonder if Endemol would put any exBB stars on retainers not to go on this show? It would take the gloss off any BB effort if we had already seen Caggie and Jade fighting it out on Five.

Nah - they couldn't possibly ask Jonny - they do want people to turn on the TV and watch ... don't they?
