Hi there!
Does anyone know of anywhere u can get this phone sim free/handset only? i want to keep my number i've had for years on O2, but i can only find the phone available on Vodafone with a new number and nowhere in my home town seems to unlock phones. Any help greatly appreciated!! |

Sorry me again! Can u tell i'm not very up to speed with mobile phones at the minute! Anyway, does anyone know if i would be able to bring my number over from o2 onto vodafone? Its the only way i can possible see me being able to get the v65 but keeping my number which i've had for all eternity! ![]() I want to go onto the vodafone network and everything, but just keep my number, so i'm hoping that o2 will let me transfer it or something. Does anyone know if this is possible or anything else i could do? Thanks in advance!! |

You can take your number from O2 to Vodafone if you wish. I've never done it myself though, it involves obtaining a PAC code from your previous provider and giving it to your new one, taking a few days for it to be completed.
If you realy want to stay on O2 you could get the phone unlocked pretty much as soon as you buy it, though because its so new it might be hard to find someone who can unlock it at the moment. |

keepin your old number is pretty simple really. you phone up your operator for a pac (port authorizastion code i think) code. they give one to you over the phone. once you've registered your new number you get a temporary number and you give them the pac number. about 7 days later your number will be transfered. it's pretty simple really
. o and by the way, its free.tjc |

its really annoying me this lol, you seem to be able to get loads and loads of phones sim free apart from the myv-65! And without wanting to sound like a child - I WANT ONE
!!!I can't be done with the hassle of telling everyone i know (and its a lot of people) what my new number is, and changing my number on forms etc that i've filled in. Do u reckon it will ever be available sim free? Or know of anywhere i can get it unlocked? I don't want to have to get something else. |

Yep, it's easy to transfer. Phone up, ask for a PAC code, get a sales pitch, ask again, get another offer, etc. etc. And that was just from going to o2 to o2 online last year
They eventually give you the number, and then you can ring up the new network and give your old number and your PAC code. They'll give you a date, and on this day both sims will go offline for about 12 hours, then the new one will come back on with your old number.

it should be unlockable very soon, as it is similar to the myx-6, which is unlokcable. you should be able to get it unlocked from vodafone for around £30 though.

they should be able to. the networks can unlock their phones, but it is usually for a much higher price than you would get from other places i.e market, net sites. correct me if i am wrong though.

if you transfer your number from any network to any other network when anyone calls you they are charged at calling another network.

well it has 4mb of memory instead of 2.5, and it is locked to a pretty bad network
. but to stop an arguement over vodafone ill say they're ok. hehe. o and its £50 more expensive. and without such a great thing as text saver. o and dan do you no if a myx-6 shell will fit onto your myv-65 and vice-versa? cos the myx-6 buttons are pretty bad...tjc |

the menus arent the same as the MYX6. they are similar to the windows control panel. they are icon based.
