2 Dav s400's both fail with the same problem
I hav had the Sony Dav-s400 for a while and i decided to replace it with the the superior sony Ht-p1000
the reason why i replaced it was becuase the Left speaker would not work and all i heard was a servere hum from the left speaker. I had 3 engineers out, one even took the machine apart on the job and soldured the audio processing unit and it was fixed for 2 weeks when the Left speaker faulted again. So i decided to upgrade the Dav-s400 The interesting thing was though that yesterday, I visited a freinds house who had just brought and installed a home cinema system. After he heard mine he thought his system was not up to scratch. So I went round his house to ceck it was working and adjust it as my freind was sure it wasn't working. When i got there to my shock i found he had brought a DAV s-400! And guess what it was the EXACT same problem i had expierenced form the Left speaker a servere hum. Isn't this interesting? Does anyone know how to solve or provide additonal information on this problem? |

I hope to reply to Currys with the e-mail/ letter/ phone call below
Address Date Dear Re: Sony Dav-S400 On [date] I bought the above digital audio video machine from your shop. On [date], after purchase, it developed a serious fault where the left speaker ceased working and a servere hum was heard from the speaker. Section 14 of the amended Sale of Goods Act 1979 requires you to supply goods of satisfactory quality. The problem described above shows there was an inherent defect in the Dav-S400 at the time of purchase, and that it was not of satisfactory quality. You are therefore in breach of contract. Moreover, my rights under this Act do not automatically expire [12] months after the date of purchase. In those circumstances I am legally entitled to financial compensation. However, while fully reserving my rights under the Sale of Goods Act, I am prepared to give you an opportunity to repair the item without charge to me. Please inform me in writing of your proposals for effecting this repair within the next 14 days. Yours Sincerely ------------- Is this acceptable and is my information above correct? |
