My reason is that I've already got an unbeatable contract from Genie that I've had for 3 years but I feel like getting a new handset... Cheapest way to get one really!

Sometimes it works out cheaper to buy another contract phone on the cheapest monthly payment and just cancel after the year's up. Also spreads the cost of the handset!

Sometimes.

Some people dont have debit/credit accounts to pay monthly though.

Since nearly all the pay monthly contracts min cost is £15/month, that works out at £180 for the phone over the year. You can get most phones for less than that on PAYG now (T610 is £150), so it's not worth getting another contract if you've already got one!

It does depend what phone you want, though, as the brand new ones cost far to much on PAYG or sim-free...

Hey, what do you guys think of the Sharp GX10i? And how old is that phone? I can get it for £199.99 but would it be cheaper to get it on a £15 a month Vodafone contract instead, cancel after a year and keep the phone? And I would be getting the free calls anyways....

I've just won a £50 cashback on a Samsung phone so that means i'll be able to get the e700 for only £139 PAYG!!!

Yeap I think many people here will be buying a Orange Samsung E700 for under £150 come January...

What im gonna do is buy the Sun newspaper tommorow and collect the 3 coupons and get my Orange sim + sms pack free and just shove it in the E700 when it arrives in Jan

That way get 5 free sms per day and just leech the system dry, maybe a £10 top up voucher every few months too lol

640x480 camera, Bright powerful Display and excellent display screen. 9 meg memory...to store all those high quality pix + remember most places are selling this phone for £300-400 offline.

I was gonna go T610 but the display prob, low quality cam put me off lol,

9 meg is hardly anything, I want an expandable card slot.

I might wait for SPV E200 about x10000 better than the E700.

Whats E700 cam compared to Sagem like? Or Sharp GX20?

SPV E200 sounds better but dunno about its cam capabilites but im sure its great

Only reason for some of us to go sammy E700 is if we can qualifiy for the £50 off voucher most of us here have won but the offer runs out too quickly so dunno.

If we can pick it up for £140... its a steal @ that price really. Could easily be sold off unlocked/sim free for 180 + easily.
