Looking at price runner the GS is about £950. That's quite a chunk of cash for a 2.1 system (stereo + sub) that does pseudo-surround. There's a review from Home Cinema Choice magazine here [LINK]

If you like the Bose sound and have the money then go for it. Some of us here would suggest you listen to some alternatives first.

I have the GS series11 and am very happy with it. The bass is very musical and has a great depth. The speakers are small but they pack a punch and are very discreet. It sounds good with audio CD's as well as movies, sometimes the bass is a bit OTT but it can be tweeked to sort.

Not cheap, be better if the player was Blu ray but I've got my PS3 hooked up to it for Dvd playback and musical games like guitar hero sound amazing. Some say Bose is overpriced but I'm enjoying my system and many others that have heard it have been impressed too.

I can get the Bose 3-2-1 GS III from Bose at York Designer Outlet for £780 hence the reason I am interested...

My room is only 3m x 5m ... I dont really want cables trailing along the wooden floor to back of room.. Hence the reason I am looking into this 3-2-1 unless someone can tempt me into something else?

Fair enough for a small room but for that money you could get a genuine surround system with far better reproduction, albeit with the wiring you're keen to avoid.

I really don't understand the fuss about Bose products, they're about as far from "hi-fi" as it's possible to get.
