I think there must be more to Series CRIDs that I previously thought as I have just discovered another oddity.

I have Ballykissangel set up to series record on ITV3. It is broadcast each afternoon and that episode is repeated in the evening. The afternoon and evening showings have different Series CRIDs. I had selected the afternoon series to record to avoid possible clashes in the evening. Yesterday's and today's episodes recorded OK, but I've just noticed that tomorrow's episode is scheduled to record in the evening even though that has a different Series CRID. As programmes that went out earlier in the day are still in the EPG, I was able to check that the programme it recorded today has a different Series CRID to the one it plans to record tomorrow.

The programmes all have Prog CRIDS, so that isn't an issue. Neither is there a clash tomorrow afternoon. Any ideas?

I'm thinking that there could be some CRID information in the EPG that is not displayed in the information panel. Could it be that the EPG contains CRIDs in both machine readable form (for use by the PVR) and human readable form (for display), and that ITV have messed up? Alternatively, is the CRID in more than one part so that alternative instances of the same series can be associated with each other. Any other ideas? Does any of this affect the specualtion in the Alba thread?

meta data CRIDS act a bit like internet hyperlinks and therefore it is quite possible to create a link somewhere different to the text that is being diplayed for example bbc.co.uk this link isn't for the bbc it's directing you to the DS home page.

Also i guess it's possible itv just written the code the same for different Series CRID links

If that's true, then it could mean that when we look in the information page to see whether a programme has Series and Prog CRIDS and what they are, we can't nessesarilly believe what we see. And you thought your head hurt yesterday .
