Is it possible to remove the partition from the HD so it can be used soley for TV recordings, and if so how do I go about it.

You do not own the partition or the extra capacity on the HDD. Sky HD T&C's, Ownership of the equipment, para 3.1 explanes

Perhaps you should check what forum you're in

I own every last Mb on my HDD and I will do what I like with.
