Rachel Stevens
Will this woman ever sing live on the TV? It's really beginning to bug me now!

I saw her on the Royal Variety show and she mined all the way through despite having a mike attached to her head.
The problem is that she can't really sing. Most of her vocals are doubled-tracked to disguise her limitations. She is just a pretty face! |

Did I imagine it or did she actually stop lip synching at one point when she had to do a complex move and it was too much to keep her lips going as well.On the new Andi Peters' TOTP btw you don't have to sing live, you can mime, but apparently that will look obvious. I wonder what Mrs Beckham will be doing on Friday? (not that I care) BBC are promoting it as must-see potential 'car crash' TV

It's not really possibily to dance and sing well at the same time.
So how do we know who is really singing? |

So how do we know who is really singing? If you are doing a two-hour concert of singing and dancing, then I suppose miming occasionally is acceptable (Jacko and Madonna do). But for a 3 minute song, there is no excuse.

Why do we need all of the dancing anyway... it's a song with a singer... so sing.

Does Rachel write her own songs? I seem to remember her saying in an interview that Sweet Dreams was actually written about an ex of her from LA. Fantastic lyrics anyway, for that and Funky Dory, whoever wrote them.

Originally posted by maestro I kinda hate to slag her off in a way, cause she looks so bloody marveous, and I'd hate to see her go away because of that *lust*.I saw her on the Royal Variety show and she mined all the way through despite having a mike attached to her head. The problem is that she can't really sing. Most of her vocals are doubled-tracked to disguise her limitations. She is just a pretty face! But I thought even her dancing was a bit robey tonight, I think if she's gonna mime, she should at least do a good dance routine, instead of staying routed to the spot and wave her arms around rather awkwardly, although I know shes done better perfomances in the past (maybe under the weather or something?). I think in S club, Jo was the voice, and Rachel was the main eye candy. Shame we cant have both in the same package. |

Sweet Dream My LA EX, was apparently written by Cathy Dennis as Britney's response to Justin's "Cry Me A River".
Britney turned it down, so instead if got given to Rachel. Not too sure about her new single, though, but as long as the video is played enough on the music channels, I'll be happy!

I don't think it's actually a Bowie song though, but I'm happy to stand corrected if anyone knows better. |

In VH-1's 100 sexiest artists the S Club girls collectively were around 7th I think.
There was not an ugly girl amongst them - And there was one more talented than Rachel; her name I forget. |
