I'm still a bit fangirlish from MEGAN! and JESSE! getting through to the wild cards - Megan was obvious, of course, but I really wasn't expecting Jesse to be chosen. I don't really expect her to get through to the top 12, but at least she'll get to sing again. *Yay* for girl music geeks!

I'm hoping they put at least 2 girls through from the wild cards. It's pathetic that we have a 6:3 split in favour of the boys so far - yes, Adam and Danny should be there, but the other four boys who got through were mostly pretty non-descript, and certainly no better than some of the girls. I'm predicting Megan and Anoop to go through as wild cards, and then probably one of the girls; I'd like Jesse, but I actually think it'll be Tatiana, or possibly Jasmine if the judges go with the minority thing (she'll be final 12 fodder if so, though).

Over all, despite one or two odd choices, I think the eight wild cards are much more interesting than many of those already in the top 12. Can we take these eight and add Adam, Lil, Danny and Kristin for the final 12, pretty please?

If it was a question of minority, then surely Junot Joyner woulve been picked. He was actually good, so that theory doesnt pan out for me. Its just that they raved about Jasmine in auditions, about her singing and ovrall marketability. But she sucked during the live performance.

I was a little surprised at Ju'Not's absence too, but I think Anoop is already marked out as the boy to go through from the wild cards, and I suspect only one boy will be chosen. So in that sense it's less surprising they didn't choose him (especially if there was a chance he'd outshine the more pimped Anoop). Anoop's another 'minority contestant', o' course - hate the phrase, but you know what I mean! - and probably a better singer than Ju'Not.

Different situation with the girls: Megan's a dead cert unless she messes up, but third place is still up for grabs. Jasmine was good in auditions but then again, so were a lot of other contestants who messed up in live shows, many not as badly as Jasmine - so in that respect I understand the poster on the other forum being a bit cynical about her inclusion...

About Von- I'm not sure what's happening with him, there used to be a lot of stuff on youtube. He has a range almost as big as Adam Lamberts. He isn't as good as Adam, but seriously, his rendition of "And I Am Telling You" is fantastic. I think that he's going to sing something which shows off his upper range tonight. I've not been impressed with him at all during the whole idol process but he can do a lot with his voice:

Ive been thinking about it all day, and Im pretty much convinced its gonna be 2 girls and 1 guy.

This scenario would create a 7-5 favor to men which isnt that bad. No way would they possibly let it go 8-4, or even 9-3!


I have Megan down as 100% finalist.. Unless she REALLY REALLY messes up, theres no way they wont pick her.

When it comes to the other girls, im not so sure. I think on talent, it should be Jesse, but Tatiana is also very good. There's so many factors that could come into play between the other 3, but I think they will put Tatiana through for the shock value she brings. Loads of people are complainig that the top 9 so far are dull.... Tat aint that

That would leave one boy to go through. Sadly, I think Ricky and Von are just there to make up the numbers. Its pretty much a fight between Anoop and Matt, and I think that Anoop will get through, unless Matt really outsings him.

Seems like a fairly decent group, shame only three can go through, although they have been rumours of a top 13 this year, which would tie in with four judges as each judge could pick a wildcard each as they did when the did the two previous wildcard shows, but anyway

I agree megan seems like the obvious pick, the rest could go either way, probably anoop or Matt(or both) and i wouldnt rule Von out who also, simon already compared him to clay who came back as a wildcard in his season and blew america away. Id like to Jessie advance but i dont fancy her chances.

I agree with alot of you that say it will be Megan, Jasmine and Anoop. (Unless they go for a top 13) Megan is a cert. Simon even said last night that he could not believe that she was not in the TOP 12 already. Jasmine is the other girl to go through as she is African American and the only decent one still in the competition and Anoop will be the only boy. I do think Junot would have been a dead cert if Anoop had gotten in during Week 1.

Tatiana will not get in because they have Jorge.she would have a fair shot if they had picked Junot though. Jesse would have been great. (I would have liked to see cameos from Jonny Lang) but I dont think it will be here, unless they have the top 13.

I do not understand why they changed the voting procedures. In season 3 it was 8 women and 4 men, so they changed it to have equal numbers of each gender. Now suddenly they change back and look whats happening. I wonder why they did what they did.

I know thats so weird! Its like they found a winning formula, and then threw it away for one that they werent happy with.

The irony is, the dominance in females in Season 3 was really good - the three diva's and Diana were easily better than any male that year. Its a shame all the guys are getting through this year, because in all honesty, all three of the 3rd place guys suck.

I agree too. Reality TV audiences always give more votes to cute guys than girls with talent, but that doesn't necessarily mean the cute guys do the best in the long run. Quite the opposite in fact. The boys in the top 12 now are all pretty bland and samey, with the exception of Adam and perhaps Danny - there's no variety.

The 6/6 split worked much better.

Can you definitely confirm this Kyle? He's my favourite by a mile and saw the other spoiler first and it had the other Matt not this one. Needless to say I was gutted until this thread gave me some hope.
