Toshiba SD380EKTB
Hi,
I am thinking of the above to go with my Toshiba 32CV505DB as the Regza link would be handy and also the upscaling. I sit around 10ft from the tv so would the upscaling have any beneficial effect over my Philips dvd player? It says region2 only on the box but I have heard that some are region free anyway. There are no hacks for any region so that could make it a non starter anyway. Thanks Rob |

The images from the Phillips player will already be upscaled as the TV will be doing it.
Will the Toshiba player be any better, well that depends if it has a better scaler than the TV, then again the HDMI connection may give a sharper picture then scart. I would have to say there would probably be very little difference, if there was, at 10ft from a 32" TV I doubt you would see the difference anyway. |

A nice clear answer and I wasn't aware the tv upscaled anyway. I think I'll stick with the Philips as I know it is region free and the picture is pretty good. Thanks again. Rob |
