It can't be a Tuesday outing this year - Mistresses will be occupying that slot on March 24th, in the week that TA is due to begin.

I'm positive it will remain on Wednesday - it's usually the weakest night for BBC One and TA brings in great ratings for that slot. I don't see why they'd needlessly change nights - it will face the football quite a few times on a Tuesday as well, which would significantly dent it's performance.

Me and my daughter absolutely love this show. We cannot wait for the new series to begin. Last year was brilliant from start to finish.

Oh yes

We whined and complained last year but there's still as much anticipation as ever. Having it at around the same time each year also helps - it brings backs memories and recreates the good times

I've kind of lost interest in the show now, after Sir Alan hired the guy who did the HUGE lie on his CV.

And how can Sir Alan now front tv ads for Apprentices in the real world, he may as well advise them all to lie instead to get the job!!!

Poor credibility and poor example for all, to do that by the guy on a national TV show, and even worse for Sir Alan to hire him after finding out. Though the one thing it did relfect was the real world, not just reality tv. i.e. lying sometimes does work for people, unfortunately.

I think the exec who found him out was the best one of the bunch!

TBH, I couldn't care less who gets employed. I just want to be entertained and entertained I am by the bunch of muppets who apply.

I wouldn't always credit the 'execs' with too much savvy either. I suspect much of the donkey work looking into the apprentice backgrounds is actually done by a research team.

You have to remember that the whole show is a condensed and heavily edited account of the tasks. As for the porky on Lee's CV, many of us can recall that Lee was in fact one of the hardest workers throughout the whole series, which in the end was what SAS really judged him on.

CVs are too over-rated anyway, loads of people bend the truth on them every day of the week, join any city recruitment agency, and there'll always be someone there advising you how to fine tune it to suit the job you're after!

Fair point BelligerentBoss. Though I'd like to think the show researchers would find out such lies sooner than one of the latter rounds, like final stages of selections for candidates. Though leaving it until then of course makes for better tv.

What is someone with genuine creditials lost out a place to Lee in the first place.

White lies are one thing true, e.g. a C grade being a B grade. Whoppers like you were at uni for 3 yrs when you werent are quite different.

But all reality tv and real life too indeed.

I'll watch show 1 to see who the people are, but doubt I'll watch the rest, in my opinion, just didnt like last years final selections of candidates and final winner. Shame as it could be a fab show like the US one.

I think the UK version is better than the US version, I do think the US one has better businessmen, but I think it makes for a better show if some of them are a bit naff. I really couldn't care who wins or how they get on in their job afterwoods, as long as the show's fun and good to watch.

The Apprentice is a TV show first, job interview second.

I agree , although the show was neither last year. There was no fun as everyone was horrid (or edited to be so) and I wasn't impressed by anyone's business acumen , unlike the previous three years where there were several candidates who were pretty good at the tasks. The top 4 were a joke last year IMO but I'm guessing they didn't have much competition from the rest.

He prefers hiring men.

Every year, the best candidate for him has been the woman. She is usually quite bolshy and bold and has stood out from the beginning, yet he picks the quieter man, who would probably be a worse apprentice for him...

Series 1: He should have picked Saira
S2: Ruth
S3: Kristina (I reckon Simon would have been fired if Katie hadnt stepped down)
S4: Claire

He ALWAYS picks the other one.

With the possible exception of Kristina, none of those women you listed were the best candidate.

I adore this show. Are they still going to do the live show on BBC2 with Adrian Chiles? How can I get tickets for this?

I think Kristina is the only one who deserved to win over her fellow finalist. Whilst Simon may have been more "suited" to the role of the Apprentice , Kristina had been consistently amongst the best performing candidates every week and there really is no point to the show if SAS disregards all the work they do and just hires for "potential" when it comes down to the last few.

Waiting in anticipation for the next series.

Still haven't quite got over some of the nasties from last year (Alex, Helene and Jenny) or Raef and Lucinda being prematurely fired
