Nokia 6600 delayed on Orange
Just had a call from local Orange shop, I had expressed interest in knowing when the 6600 was out on Orange......
Well they have said tonight due to network compatibility issues it will not be available on Orange until Mid Jan at the earliest ! Ho Hum, was gonna be my Xmas present to myself!! |

Why buy this phone? Its fat - and looks it. Interesting review on Mobile Burn. Lousy Bluetooth implimentation by Nokia, as usual.

Well, I bought one a week ago, have a stack load of apps and games installed to a 128Mb MMC card and is running fine on Orange, although it took some time for me to configure it correctly for use with that network!
However, can I get PC Suite to work with Windows XP Pro? Nope, fortunately I can run it on a spare Windows 2000 machine. |

I can confrim also that it wont be released till Jan at the earliest.....Orange's reasoning is that it had too many teething problems and they didn't wanna release it until they had them all sorted.
In addition the Samsung E700 apparently has been put back till Mid December at earliest. |

Yep, latest version of PC Suite from Nokia website.
Admittedly the voicemail spool doesn't show up. However, I do get a blank SMS message instead. This isn't a major problem until a firmware update and I don't have line two. |

the voicemail problem will probably be fixed very shortly, nokia just released an updated version of the software for the 3650 which also had that problem and its now working.
You'll have to find a nokia service centre and convince them that the phone needs upgrading, but it should fix the problem (I believe it also fixes line 2). When I get a problem with pc suite, its generally down to it forgetting where its supposed to be looking for the phone (infrared in my case). Usually its fixed by telling the connection manager/mRouter where to look again with the phone connected via infrared. With infrared, win xp detects the phone too, if you are using it via infrared does win xp see it first ? |

Think Nokia are slowly but surely losing their grip on reality... The Japanese/Koreans are slowly catching them...
Anyone remember Ferguson in the early days of TV/Video - where are they now? Regards GK |
