Mux 2 Problems Last Night?

I see there have been some threads running on poor signal experience. I had an odd one myself last night.
I was recording on ch 5 and More 4. Ch5 was fine...but I noticed that More 4 was showing 'no or bad signal', black screen, sometimes badly pixellated picture etc. I was also getting the message about the signal being scrambled sometimes. This was equally true of the other available stations on Mux 2.
It seemed odd that it was only Mux 2. BBC channels all seemed fine when I checked after the recordings. I also looked at signal strength for the Mux 2 stations and what was strange was that I was getting 60-65% strength (which I usually get), but quality was varying from 0-10-40-10% etc.
So, if it was a signal problem, why would strength be as normal? Why was only quality affected? And why only on Mux 2?
I decided to try a 'default settings', which seemed to clear the problem - and all mux 2 stations came back at 100% quality. Again, strange if it was a signal problem...
Could the quality improvement after a 'default settings' mean that the Hummy had been up to mischief??! And, if so, what?!
And...isn't digital supposed to be immune from high pressure problems affecting analogue??!!
I'm on Talconeston (Sudbury) by the way.

Is Channel 5 a target? Or should it be? Answers, on a postcard ..
On BBC (normally perfect!) I found quality dropping from to between 70 and 90% quite frequently. Other channels (including MUX 2) seemed okay. Just BBC
