That's why it's always worth-while shelling out a few bob to buy a listings magazine.
Well, when yopu compare the blanket advertising for the usual "reality" fare ITV dishes out, it is very annoying to me when something of a little more quality gets ignored by the station.
However, as I watch so little tv in general, I'd rather save myself the "few bob" every week so I can get the DVD!

Oh I'm fully aware of all of the different ways of finding out what's on - there's also the 14-day EPG on my digi-box, but I have better things to do with my life than waste it scanning the tv schedules!
Fortunately, in this digital age, there's a huge amount of air-time to fill on any number of channels - so it'll be repeated sooner or later anyway!
It is a bit weird. ITV seem to have stated mucking around with various detective series.
Most of them used to have a straight series run of 3 or four episodes. The recent Midsomer Murders moved to Fridays. Often they will show one episode of MM and then nothing for ages despite having several ready to show. Apparently some episodes of MM were shown out of order too.
Caught Foyle's War last week but had seen no advertising and why show just one?
ITV seem to be doing this more and more with these types of shows.
I just asked the ITV Duty Office. They say the next episode is now scheduled for April.
So that's a month's gap between the end of Lewis and the next episode of Foyle. What are they showing in between some sort of "Celebrity Love Island" rubbish ?

It could be when the new Jane Austen productions are shown. The DVD release dates for these are scheduled in March/April, so you would expect them to have been shown on TV first.
They did the same for "Raiders of the Lost Archive" a couple of weeks ago. I do think Foyle's War deserves a bit more respect as its one of ITVs better programmes.
According to media guardian last week's Foyle got 7.6 million viewers which is one of ITV's best drama performances in a year, so why they're not showing the episodes together to create brand loyalty is a bit of a mystery. Tjhough the show is apparently soon to end as they reach the end of the war so maybe's they're trying to ration it out.

That was what I assumed but in which case:
- Why show a "next time" trailer for something a month away
- Why not start "Lewis" one week early
It is almost as if ITV want Foyle's War to fail so they don't have to make any more.
Just seems a strange way to run a TV station.
As my mother would say, "Where there is no sense, there is no feeling."
Trouble is, we missed last week's episode because of the total lack of advertising from ITV!

Bit pointless running a next episode trailer then.
Last Sunday 9-11.

I would assume that when the programmes were made, the producers thought the new episodes were going to be shown on consectutive Sundays.
Some one at ITV forgot to tell them otherwise.
The 'coming next' was before the closing credits, so would assume that it was part of the produced programme.
