Hopefully some of you saw my topic from two weeks ago where I drove just under 300 miles to visit Brookside Close. Click here
Well today I went back to the Close with my missus and also to Lime Pictures where Hollyoaks and Grange Hill is filmed. Here's some pics of the Close:

Thanks to a mate on a Brookside forum we all went into Childwall woods and had a peek over the fence to where the old Brookside Parade is.
I saw the top of the petrol station and a Grange Hill sign, here's my one & only pic of the old Parade which is now used in Hollyoaks:

Just a quick question about your pics on the other thread about the petrol station. I take it it is still in the same position, but now just out of view in the new Hollyoaks/Grange Hill sets?
Are they using the petrol station shop for filming for anything currently?

It's now used to as a props store by the looks of things.
It's a long time ago but near the end of Brookie didn't the petrol station have a helicopter crash into it and it all went up in flames? If this is correct, they must have done some rebuilding to be able to use it again for Hollyoaks/Grange Hill sets.
As for the Parade it's pretty unrecognisable nowadays, a company called Marshalls totally revamped it:

Quite a shame to see the Close delapadated but the Parade looks amazing. Don't get to see all of it on Hollyoaks
The company started to gut the houses but no more work has taken place this year although someone cuts the grass.
There's a barrier to stop cars getting onto the Close but you can walk around that.
I travelled 300 miles (600 mile round trip) twice to see the Close and it really is worth the effort.
