Installing a Dish on my Static Caravan
How much on average would I be to install at Sky dish??? I want to add a dish to my static caravan and plan to take my box with me when I go to the caravan. If the price is expensive how easy is it to install yourself and what do I need (I will have the dish, cable, fixings, tools, etc). Would I need a sat finder? The caravan is in Scotland (AB31 6NT) is there a site that will tell me where to look? I looked on ebay and found this Sky Dish. Any advice would be helpfull

Go and buy a 60cm dish from ebay (45cm probably not good enough for Scotland). The one you list is over priced. £15 seems an average price, look through this section http://electronics.listings.ebay.co.uk:80/Satellite_Dishes_W0QQfromZR11QQsacategoryZ29783QQsocmdZListingItemList
You'll have more fun doing it yourself.

I would think a professional installers call out fee would be £40 +.
Some people have their dishes on a stand outside the caravan. I'd try and align it myself first. Once you learn you can find the sat quickly , it just takes practice.
It's probably been mentioned before, but www.satelliteforcaravans.info has all you ned to know.

Dave.
Many other countries have had this item:

So im sure it will come to the UK before long!
I now use an external meter. ( Digisat Pro).
Some excellent advice on the website.

Used steel stake (used for fencing) from B&Q. I hammered it into the ground and then added my scaffolding pole. I added the dish to that. I also bought a Maxview fixing kit (shaped like a L) and fitted it directly onto the van. I also added some brackets to stop the aerial moving. I got it installed for £40.00 and managed to get a Quad LNB. I will be getting another cable installed and take my Sky+ out with me.
