Why isn't Rex bookies favourite to win?

  • He's topping digitalspy polls and other online forum polls.
  • Public overwhelmingly take sides with him over Monetgate.
  • He's charming, affable and handsome.
  • He's male (only one series has had a non transgendered female winner)
  • He's been verbally bullied and bitched about non stop.

Yet you can get odds of 16/1

And the competition isn't strong enough - apart from Katreya (but will people really vote for her in huge numbers), Luke (way too divisive and would get a lot of anti-votes in the final), Mikey (hasn't captured peoples hearts).

Only Darnell could come close but I reckon Rex could beat him.

I'm really tempted to put a bet on and I never gamble!

Rex's downfall could be the fact he will keep getting nominated each week by the HM's.

Hopefully once Jen goes, this will change, then his odds should drop.

I think because he's likely to be up for eviction a lot...and I think a lot of the people who like him at the mo feel that way simply because they're annoyed at the treatment he is receiving, rather than because of Rex himself (although I do like him a lot).

Who knows, once Jen is gone and the other HMs see that treating ppl like crap isn't as popular on the outside as they think, the dynamic of the group will change profoundly and we will see a different Rex - maybe then he'll be one of the favourites if he proves to be a good bloke! :)

    Why bring commonsense into it?

Internet polls and especially the digital spy poll have time and again proven to be very poor indicators of BB results.

Ijust love him to win, but I think Darnell might. Not that I mind that either. As far as common sense goes I think he and Darnell have a lot in common.

Rex is really popular at the moment, because he's been the target of Jen and her clique, who are really unpopular, because he's quite good looking, and because he's fairly straight talking and genuine.

However, there are still two months left of the show, and during that time Rex is more likely than someone like Darnell or Rachel to end up doing something to piss of the GBP. While he's very popular at the moment, I wouldn't be surprised if he had a fall from grace.

    They will drop drastically.

I know that he is on the final three list on Betair with Kat, Darnell Rex/Rachel.

16/1 looks an outstanding price to me. I imagine the punters aren't convinced he'll stay and becuase he's rich its a job to see him winning £100,000 against more "deserving" people. However, if you've got the money, I think putting a few pounds on Rex at those odds is definatly worth a punt.

    They are good odds.

I never bet but the first Saturday I went to put £10 on him to win. I just thought it would give me a bit more fun to watch.

Anyway when I went in for some reason they were taking no bets at the time? and I never went back. the odds that day were the same 16/1. I might try again now though.:)

I thnk it's because the bookies assume he will leave the house voluntarily at some point.

    I'll second that.

His desire to be in charge will prove to be his downfall.

    He won't win, imo.

he doesn't need the money. 100k would change someone like darnell's life.

I work for one of the bookies. The reason Rex isn't favourite is because of the sheer weight of bets on Kat and recently Darnell.

Rex was 16.5 weeks ago, just when Rexmania was starting.

Then some how his odds lengthened to rediculus lengths, I am sure 28 at one point, so they are shortening again quite rapidly
