Ive been watching Corrie all of my 25 years and until now the room at the back of the bar and the little kitchen has served perfectly well for the likes of Bet, Alec, Raquel, Natalie, Jack and Vera etc.
Now all of a sudden they have intorduced this upstairs flat, like they have in the Vic in EE. Which would be fine if it hadn't just materialised after 40 odd years. Why have we never seen it before? I don't recall seeing renovations going on either?
I know most pubs do have upstairs living quarters But until now its always appeared that the Rovers had a kitchen and living/dining room downstairs and bedrooms upstairs.

Yeah but Shelley was in the bedroom, and in the past we have seen Liz, Steve, Michelle etc watching telly in the back room like it was the main living room.
thought they were in a different flat and not the rovers  it just seems to have poped up over night. all that used to be upstairs was the bedrooms
some people have two living rooms, my dad owned two houses, both had two living rooms.... and a conservatory, which was also a kind of living room.
Like the toilets in the Rovers should be in Emily Bishop's house?
It's totally ridiculous for them to start showing this after so many years of everyone asuming that it was just toilets and bedrooms upstairs. We never saw this when Jack and vera had a lock in and people were passing them up rations by the window! Totally daft IMO!!
Yes but the point is this room has never been seen before until very recently and the Rovers is very small, there is no room for more living space.
The Rovers is probably the smallest pub I have ever seen. Its tiny. Maybe pubs were really small years ago?
Its daft to expect us to believe this flat has always been there.
They moved the stairs after the fire but just didn't mention it
They moved before the fire.

You've got a point - We are all sitting discussing an upstairs flat in the Rovers and not future and current storylines.
Says a lot really!
LMAO!!
I don't watch Corrie too regularly but even I was wondering where it had appeared from. I thought maybe there had been a storyline where Liz had gotten the upstairs renovated or something but obviously not. It just adds to the already tardis like premises that is the Rovers.
This and that strange camera angle between Devs legs
Then it magically became a three bedroomed pub in the 90's. Alec and Bet had one room, Raquel had the other and Vicky in the school holidays, had her room. Three.
And then also in the 90's it became a FOUR bedroomed pub. Bet, Vicky and Raquel had a room each and a friend of Vicky's stayed once and Bet said he could have 'the room at the back'. Four.
So if a 'corner shop flat' type thing suddenly appeared to be added to the 4 bedrooms (I haven't watched for years so I haven't seen it) ... well ... doesn't surprise me in the least!
The Rovers has always been a Tardis. In the 70's also, aside from the bar area there was a large room - the select - that was next to the bar, and the outside of the pub was clearly only the size of the bar inside, no way would the select fit in it, the size it was outside.
