Alexandra - Top song for funerals
It seems Hallelujah is one of the most popular songs played at funerals
Of course another is My Way and Wing beneath my Wings but a humourous one is Another one bites the dust.
Has anyone else got humorous songs which could be played at funerals
I did see one once on TV where he was a drag artist and at the end the curtains opened and shut for an ovation when the coffin disappeared to Life is a Cabaret.

I'd be glad I was in the box if that was played.
I know a vicar who cannot stand to hear "Time To Say Goodbye" by Andrea Bocelli because she hears it so much...
Burnin' Love - Elvis
Feelin' Hot, Hot, Hot - Arrow
Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash
Firestarter - Prodigy
Light my Fire - Doors
Great Balls of Fire - Jerry Lee Lewis
I'm On Fire - Bruce Springsteen
I'm pretty sure it is! It is a beautiful song though, when sung by Jeff Buckley or even Rufus Wainwright. I didn't like Alexandra's version, but I have to say it was better than the mind-numbingly awful version which U2 did.
Indeed.
I get depressed just listening to a few bars of that dirge.
For burials, Status Quo's Down Down takes some beating.
I would like "To where you are", by Josh Grobin.
I was just thinking about Nelly's 'Hot In Here' ; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRgtofyvUIA , & East 17s 'Deep' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_XP7ksgN9k for the same events !
God it makes you shudder thinking about it
I've left strict instructions!
At my funeral I'd want stuff like this:
The Police, 'Message In A Bottle'
ABC ,'The Look of Love'
Calvin Harris, 'Vegas' and or 'Acceptable in the 80s'
Paolo Nutini, 'Last Request' and 'These Streets'
Hue and Cry, 'Mother Glasgow'
The Corries, 'Flower of Scotland'
Swing Out Sister, 'Break Out'
The Script, 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved'.
In no particular order!
What a morbid post!
Break out??? Seriously??
Burn Baby Burn (Disco inferno)?
I once went to a funeral where they had Katie Melua closest thing to crazy. Very teary.:o
