I thought it was an anagram of TC need ham - but that's only 9 letters.

Unless it's I (meaning TC), need ham so.

Not getting very far on this one, would it be fair to say you need to follow your athletics to know this person?

Thought 'gem' could produce 'Ruby' as the first name but I can't think of any athletes named Ruby. Is 'what a' passive?

King can be single letters K or R, but my gut instinct is the name of a King such as James or John, then the Kings issue could be as in offspring to make John-son...

    Johnson is right TC. :):):)

Ruby isn't the only 4 lettered gemstone.

She's well known. Competed in Beijing.

I'm wondering if the forename begins with geo i.e. George but can't really justify the ge at the end.

Is the headland a synonym e.g. bluff, crag etc. or an actual headland - in which case I'm out of it! My mind has gone a complete blank.

Geo is right, not George though.....

Not the name of a specific headland but a different synonym to the ones you mentioned :)
