Yes, festivals and support bands count, it's bands you have seen live!

50 sounds a huge number, but once you've been to a few gigs, it's really easy :)

I'm struggling to get to 25, but I bet I've seen one group that not many other FMs have. Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. :D Either just before Ringo left to join the Beatles. Or the week after. :)

I have not seen anything like 50 bands live, but I did see the Beatles live at the Plymouth ABC cinema in 1964. My biggest memory 45 years later was the noise. Not from the Beatles but the screaming girls that surrounded me!
The ticket cost 15 Shillings. (Thats 75p to those unfamiliar with pre-decimal money)

I love Shed Seven... saw them play the Main Stage at T in the Park 2008 and they were superb live. Jumped about like a nutter and sang my heart out... happy days :)

Yeah, I hoped they'd make it as big as Oasis...then their debut single 'Mark' that I bought on green 7" limited edition vinyl would be worth some spondoolies....:)

Heh, at first I just assumed that Rick Witter was a whoopsie singing about Mark and 'we would make great lovers'.....it wasn't until I listened a bit closer I realised he meant it as 'mark my words...'. Quite a clever sexually ambiguous song, really. Or me just being thick.

Fine band though...I actually thought their 2000 (?) album Truth Be Told was their best, but as Britpop had obviously been and gone by then nobody much cared outside their fanbase :(

I remembered quite a few more I missed off my list as well...actually looking through your original list (great bands on there btw!) jogged my memory, as soon as I saw My Bloody Valentine I remembered the Rollercoaster tour at Sheffield arena with The Jesus and Mary Chain, Blur and Dinosaur Jr, which in turn reminded me that I saw Dinosaur Jr again at Leeds Warehouse, probably the loudest gig I have ever been to, how could I forget that?! :D That in turn reminded me that I saw The Sundays at Leeds Warehouse....and on it goes :D

Also can't believe I forgot to put the first ever gig I went to...The Jam (with The Dickies supporting) :D

    Great thread, great memories! :)

Christ, you guys have good memories. I've tried to have a bash at this but I struggle to remember last week, let alone the last decade :o:D

I was thinking about this thread the other day, and in my list I can't believe I've missed out one of the very best gigs I've been to.

So, 50 (b) - Ted Leo and The Pharmacists - King Tuts, Glasgow, July 2007.

    That's better :)
