I don't think this has been mentioned anywhere, but BigL looks likely to become "Voice of England", a religious station - I am guessing that explains the recent resumption of test broadcasts on 1395 kHz.
This is being promoted by an American airtime broker which has some clients who broadcast "fire and brimstone" programmes in the USA, so possibly we will be seeing Brother Stair on 1395...? Here is the literature:

Note Ray Anderson is mentioned as the station manager, between paragraphs with unsourced statistics and exaggerations of the signal coverage.

Brother Stair was heard for a brief time overnight on Big L soon after it launched in 2005.
KBC have set aside Saturday/Sunday 2200-0000 for religious stuff so it could be for that slot.
If this is Pan American, then I think Radio Outreach worked with them in the 1980s at the same time they were on Radio Luxembourg's English Service and Manx Radio.
This may be a hoax. The website of Pan American Broadcasting at http://www.panambc.com/europe.htm has no reference to the station. However this is a questionable operation. They sell airtime on Radio Africa in Equatorial Guinea, which only operates spasmodically, and like most of their stations the claimed reach is preposterous.
If the ads are genuine, and they are claiming 50,000 watts on 1395 from the current transmitter, someone should report them for fradulent advertising.

I have the actual letter in my possession, so if you, Andy Sennitt, would like to visit and verify this, you are most welcome. Of course I removed the personal details of who the letter was addressed to, but that's as much editing I have done.
The claim that it can be heard in London is a bit far fetched. I am in the countryside, but outside London, and cannot hear anything daytime, and nighttime is constant deep fading.

The current one is http://www.panambc.com/
That increases my suspicion that this is a hoax.
Well, I have put an enquiry on the Friends of Big L forum to see if anyone can confirm it. But the mention of Ray Anderson, who told Ruud Poeze a few months ago that he is no longer associated with Big L, the incorrect web address despite the ads purporting to be current, and the exaggerated claims about the station's power and reach, put a lot of doubts in my mind.
Having said that, Panamerican Broadcasting is well known for its exaggerated claims about many of its clients, so I wouldn't be too surprised either if it turns out to be genuine
According to a message just posted on Friends of Big L, Roger Davis has just broadcast a disclaimer. Thought so
Err... well it's not a hoax, not my hoax anyway.
Pan American Broadcasting could be hoaxing, but it would be a silly way to do business by sending such letters to churches and radio ministries around the world.

A colleague of mine went a few years ago and the most popular exhibit - New Guns... Work that out....
They appear to be an airtime broker (which is not an uncommon business over here).
Also, one thing I've learned over here, No such thing as "fraudelent" advertising in some States. Caveat Emptor as they say.
However it does seem weird that they would invent a station called the Voice of England just so they could sell airtime on it. It sounds like someone is having someone on...
That's nothing.
Reflections Europe covers "England, Ireland, Scotland", but not Wales!

So it isn't a hoax then. Odd to broadcast a disclaimer so fast.
A religious broadcaster to used 1395 during daytime it would seem. Have they done their research? the signal is pitiful, even an increase of power by 10dB wouldn't be very beneficial.
Can't see anything confirming this on any of the usual sites, do you have a source confirming its genuine?
Paul Rusling claims Ray has approached IOMIB about using 279 for this too.

None whatsoever and I doubt anything will happen. I was just responding to the fact that a disclaimer was rapidly announced on BigL, seems an odd thing to do.
All this news certainly keeps BigL high on the anorak news sites. All they have to do is get normal people equally interested and they will have listeners.
Here we go again..
True. When my company was considering advertising on the (Frinton) Big L we got about 15-20 letters and e-mails warning us off.....
