Also We've Got The World Tonight for Ireland http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLvgnkKL-9U I didn't actually know it was a Eurovision song for years. Cause I didn't see it that year. Probably love it more cause it was always on in the Irish bars when I went to Crete years ago. It was on cd I bought that the dj had made too.
Can't see YouTube at work, so apologies if they're already on this thread, but my favourite is Estonia's 2003 entry, "Eighties Coming Back", by Rufus (sometimes spelt Ruffus.) Amazing song, easily the most-played track on my iPod!
Already mentioned, Anne-Marie David's ""Tu te reconnaîtras" (Wonderful Dream) (Luxembourg 1973) is, er, wonderful.
Lena's "Satellite" is the best Eurovision song in a long time, I knew it would win the first time I heard it (though I also have a big soft spot for Paula & Ovi's "Playing With Fire", also from this year.)
I rememebr really looking forward to Rita's appearance in 1990(?) or thereabouts for Israel as I had an album of hers and absolutely loved it...but unfortunatelty she didnt quite come up with the goods on the night.
Nocturne - Secret Garden
Waterloo - ABBA
What's Another Year - Johnny Logan
Hold Me Now - Johnny Logan
Love Shine A Light - Katerina & The Waves
Come What May - Vicky Leandros
I am a fan of the Eurovision Song Contest and have been since 1987 - but, as I said to Anne Robinson on The Weakest Link in 2008, we all have our guilty pleasures.
My Top 10 songs from the contest are as follows:-
1) Love Shine A Light - KATRINA & THE WAVES (UK 1997)
2) Let's Get Happy - LOU (Germany 2003)
3) Invincible - CAROLA (Sweden 2006)
4) What's Another Year - JOHNNY LOGAN (Ireland 1980)
5) Disappear - NO ANGELS (Germany 2008)
6) Take Me To Your Heaven - CHARLOTTE NILLSON (Sweden 1999)
Dana - All kinds of everthing 1970
Vicky Leandros - Apes Toi 1972
Anne- Marie David - Tu Te Reconnaitras 1973
Teach In - Ding A dong 1975
Johnny Logan - Whats another year 1980
Johnny Logan - Hold me now 1987
Lordi - Hard rock hallelujah 2006
Lena - Satellite -2010
I always used to hide the fact that the Eurovision Song Contest was a major gulty pleasure for me, but now I openly admit to the fact as I feel that my taste in music is eclectic enough to also accommodate the ESC.

Ha, remember my sister buying I See A Star. Wasn't keen on it myself.
it was its quirkiness that appealed, im not so keen now.
The Swedes know a thing or two about making great pop music.
