There is noting "refined" about titilation, its wank material for whoever find its titilation, its all the same and this crap is about as titilating as a Anne Widdecombe strip show. Frankie's jack hammer pounding makes me feel sorry for her unforunate victims.
Tess does remind me of Alice, but hardly a full on clone. Unlike Frankie/Shane(one difference though is Frankie will have sex with men too). Tess is the best character so far.
It's a decent show, written by women I believe, so it's all out of female minds(so another thing towards that silly notion of lipstick porn for men). It's nothing great but it's a welcome show on British screens with all right acting, certainly not bad.
The woman who plays Cat's new girlfriend, the policewoman, is a lesbian in real life apparently.
There really aren't that many attractive lesbians in real life unfortunately. They are out there but they're very rare.
Yes off course attractive lesbians are rare.......

Frankie's mannerisms are even copied from shane. It's like they made her watch the l word and told her they wanted her to be exactly like that. Shane also slept with men. This was mentioned in series 1 when she was paid for sex.
I believe that was oral sex only, she didn't willingly go with men, it was for survival in her eyes. Still different to Frankie.
I though she only gave hand jobs when she was posing as a fake rent boy but it was an utterly stupid plot so I make have glazed over on some of the details.
I hope Frankie gets together with some guy and goes of to live in a house with a white picket fence and never darkens my screen again.

It's after the watershed, and its on beeb3. Aimed at teenagers, and its lesbians? We're all aware of Lesbians and there sexual practices. So I don't think anyone has a right to question if this show should be aired. Don't like it? Don't watch

You must be mistaking this forum for the PTC website or a site located in the US or Australia. Unless of course you are American or Australian.
BTW thanks for the watchwithmothers tip, the review on Lip Service are hysterical. The bit about how you never have any authentically Glaswegian tv hosts with proper Glaswegian accents made me think of a great idea of series 2. Michelle McManus makes a special guest apperance as Lou's replacement at the tv show when her outing by The Sun makes her go on a 2 week drug fulled bender(as people do in tabloids). She is replaced by Michelle who acts supremely bitchy and it results in an on-set fight with Michelle winning of course using her weight advantage.
I bet you wouldn't say that if it was two men shagging and kissing.
I really would, doesnt interest me!!
My sister is a lesbian and finds this show offensive, as I said before, its target market is horney single men looking for some free lipstick lesbian porn!!

Um, youporn.com is FREE, men aren't as dumb as you seem to think they are.
As for the sex, frankly I don't really find it that appealing or attractive to be honest. If anything the Frankie (now know to me as Rankie due to her intense mingingness) would put me off sex for a good while.
How would your sister prefer lesbians to be portrayed? Uglier? Celibate? Wearing dungarees? Like Sonia/Naomi?

Offensive? How sensitive is she?
There's much better things online (so I've heard never looked) for men to watch, why would they put up with all the acting (or lack of) for a tit glimpse?

Not all lesbians are sex hungry, and see every woman they meet as a potentail conquest!!
Lets be honest now, the actuing is poor, the story line is porr, what else is there to watch it for?

Not every character on Lip Service "see every woman they meet as potentail(sp?) conquest".
The acting on lots of programmes is poor but people still watch them, are you suggesting that people must be watching them for the sex as well? Is that not a giant assumption on your part? Have you acquired data to show the demographic make-up of the audience which will back up your point that it is mostly men who are watching this show and therefore must be watching it for the sex because the acting is crap?
I love Lou's character and think its so typical of women these days they may always feel attracted to women but never act upon it until later in life. Her and Tess would be great together when she's more comfortable in her own skin!!
I am really enjoying it. Good there is another drama with gay character sin. I never felt when Queer as Folk was on that I had to be represented by any of the people in it.

Horny, single men looking for some free lipstick lesbian porn also pay their TV licences, so they should be catered for too.
I don't see what there is to be offended by anyway... Frankie is one character, the others leads seem fine and dandy. Not an insult to lesbians at all. Had more or less the same in the L-Word also. I suppose Sugarpink that your lesbian sister was offended by that show too...

So much of this discussion is almost identical to the criticisms of The L Word when it first aired here in the US. Fans were apoplectic about Bette and Tina's threesome with a man in the first episode, and the show was regularly criticized for catering to a straight male audience. I do think there is some of that. However, I also know they need ratings to survive. I think it's a fine line of selling their soul to ensure renewal versus maintaining some dignity and credibility.
I *really* like Sam. I liked Cat far more after episode 2. I don't like Frankie at all - despised the hookup with the thief. Tess - don't put up with bullcrap from even gorgeous women. Lou - hate her.
But I love the show. Enough to start a fansite for it.

Well promoters market the same boy bands towards teenage girls and gay men so maybe gay women and straight men might enjoy watching certain elements of Lip Service but its still pretty pathetic compared to all the porn out there. Unless we are suggesting that gay women wouldn't like to see shows with attractive women, maybe I am wrong and all they like are documentaries presented by Rhona Cameron and Sue Perkins.

When you can spell better I'll take you more seriously.
But for the reasons you listed, that's why straight guys won't be watching it while having a wank.

But what about those that watch but don't like certain aspects of it; what are they going to do?
Saying that, I'm baffled that anybody could be offended or insulted by this show, but everyone is entitled to their own feelings.
