I'm officially stumped. What's it going to be?

Edit. Ah. Good song. Not as good as The Day Before You Came, mind.

I'll second that. Great cover done by Blancmange on You Tube too (12" especially)

SO delighted that 'The Day Before You Came' was top 3.

Where was 'Take A Chance On Me' again :p?

Amazing, my top 4 all in the top 7 <3.

How many weeks was this number 1? I seem to remember seeing Agnetha walking along in that red jump suit week after week after week on TOTP.

I will never tire of this song either.

Or 'Happy New Year' or 'The Way Old Friends Do'.

    Both incredible, and 'Angeleyes'

    SO many classics

Should have been longer than just 2 weeks at the top but a lot of competition in 1980. I think bowies ashes to ashes dislodged it.

I like Bowie but couldn't he have held off releasing that for another month - because the winner takes it all is perfect

Ah Magicians is on. I must be the only person in the country who bought it on DVD. I remember going to see it at the Cinema and it was just me and my sister on our own until a few of the people who worked there come in to watch it too as a freebie...anyway back to Abba.

    Ooooooo. Curses to you, nickynoodle.
I'll have to go and dig out my old Abbba Collection shortly. I adored 'The Way Old Friends Do' and 'Happy New Year'

Where the hell am I going to get a bloody cassette player to play 'em, though? :p

Neil Sedaka wrote the English lyrics for 'Ring Ring'? He's another songwriter with the golden touch.

Benny and Bjorn must be worth a mint-surely not far behind Macca with all the revenue from album sales, Mamma Mia, etc. Although obviously no tours, so they're missing out on another potential fortune from that.

Never mind, I'm sure they can live without the extra pocket money! Great band. :D
