What a great read the statistics for the whole series is Matt won every single week except week 1 when he was second. Has that ever happened before?:D I loved the shocked look on Simon's face when he realised his group were never in the top 2 the whole series:D

So happy for Matt, his friends, family and all of us supporting him. He so deserved that win. Even though he hasn't been in good health the last few weeks he still won. I don't think it would have been as close in the final if he had been 100%.
The most important thing is that he's the winner and his future career will begin.

got it from Itunes - you got to listen to it - absolutely amazing - this is EXACTLY the sort of stuff he should be doing
I'm gonna admit now that I didn't love the Dido or the Katy Perry song not because he didn't perform them well but because they're just not good enough songs for him. I assume his song choices in the last couple of weeks have been effected by his illness but I am unbelievably happy and relieved with what he has recorded
SC and his brother can go f**k themselves - he only needs Cowell's money - leave the rest to Matt.

Yes Wicked. Dido and Katy Perry songs weren't great vehicles and I do think his voice was factored into the choices. I was worried because his voice not at its best, but, wow!! the voting pattern throughout the series has been amazing!!! I am so chuffed. I wish he'd been on top form for the finals but hey ho he's got to put all this behind now and forge ahead....having such huge public backing will hopefully give him more leverage in terms of what he puts out......I've done my duty by the Cardle and downloaded and purchased all that I can Matt-related.

I've read on the main forum that Steve Brookstein topped the votes every week in series 1 and that Leon topped the votes nearly every week in his series. Apparently, results weren't made public then so I don't know how this is known
I know Joe was always near the top last year because QM posted the percentages but he only won the last 4 or 5 weeks. He had a very comfortable victory but had great songs and was in good form.

CONGRATULATIONS PEOPLE!!! The main forum will be cursing and gnashing teeth and wishing Matt to fail for months to come. Love it. He's truly arrived now. hahah.
This was the first time I have ever been compelled to vote on the xfactor and my votes were purely based on how immense this guy has been in the past. I seriously think he's the best thing to come out of the show EVER. Whether that materialises in commerical sucess i dont know but the guy is class. His musicality and emotional interpretation of songs are second to none. But you can still see and hear that he isn't well and there was a part of me that wished he didnt win so that he'd actually get the chance to have a full rest and regain the quality and strength of his voice back - I worry about all the endless promotions he will have to do now. I hope he does see sense and give himself proper recovery time.
Oh and please someone help with this itunes malarkey - I was only able to pre-order the winning song 30 mins ago but its available for download now. How does it work?

Sorry to biff on about it, but did you not think Many of Horror was him at his best? I find it hard to believe there was ever a better performance on the X Factor stage. Although the funny thing was the crowd didnt go that mad- I think the emotion and the slamming down of the mike kind of broke with the nice, neat conventions of those performances.
