What is better the directors cut or theactrical version?

Just got it on blu-ray, and not sure which version to watch of this awesome movie.

    For me its the theatrical edition that wins, as I found the directors cut ruined the pace with unnecessary scenes being added and didnt really contribute anything extra to the storyline.

    Watch the cinema release version first, then the director's cut. I prefer the first cinema release also.

    I've been toying with the idea of getting this set at some point, mainly due to the alleged new subtitle translation.

    Can anyone confirm if the new subs track is indeed new and an improvement over the previous pigeon English one?

    the longer version is better, don't listen to what the other posters said, it adds some valueable characterization.

    Ignore wiseguy... watch the first release then the director's cut. And we didn't say DON'T watch it...

    Does it have more Kou Shibasaki in it? She was so gorgeous as Mitsuko.

    I'm more of a Chiaki Kuriyama fan myself. Although, I wouldn't want to piss off either of her characters in 'Battle Royale' and 'Kill Bill'.
