Happy mainly as it shows being a self-righteous prick on facebook doesn't mean you have a good taste in music.
So what's so self-righteous about a campingn that shows people don't like what the X-Factor stands for? After all it's a free world. I bet your the sort of chump who'd buy the single of whoever won the show, weather you liked the song or person singing it?
I do find the XF entertaining, but why not change the schedule so the final is on Xmas day, it'll be far better than most of that crap on TV....Oh right, i forgot, cos that way they wont have Xmax no.1, and that what the show is about: ££$$ over music.
I know I went into 3 Tesco branches and none of them had the single!!!! at one branch they were like "has it been released yet" I was Like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol. I just looked back at the reaction on here to last years result and people were posting left, right and centre telling RATM fans not to post on the x factor board and to stop gloating. This year it appears from this thread those rules have changed.
I'm glad that he bet Surfin' Bird.... Last year I wanted Rage to get number 1 cos that was about good music reclaiming the chart... The bird thing was just a crappy novelty thing and the people who started that campaign had totally wrong intentions when they chose that song.

Apparently Surfin Bird revolutionised rock n roll so it would infact be quite an important song.
Including one Matt Cardle, who supported the RATM campaign last year?
RATM is his favourite band so he supported them getting recognition and being Christmas number 1. It was driven by his love of music, which isn't the case for others whose mission seems to be to ruin someone elses career in any way they can.
They chose the right song last year for the protest song, catching the interest of genuine music fans, this year they chose very poorly.

Rage Against the Cowell Machine is what I saw it being about. My cousin, a socialist, and fan of RATM questioned why, in his words, a "left-progressive band" would get in the way of "just ordinary working class kid". So, by becoming, personally, embroiled they lost his respect, while I cancelled my donation to Shelter. It also trivialised what "Killing in the Name" was all about - institutional racism in the US

They got a very old song to number 3 in the charts. Ahead of the likes of take that, katy perry and others.

I think that was a lot of people's motivation last year too. maybe not Matt's but for plenty of others it was
not really bothered who won but i find it funny that surfin bird did the best of the campaigns despite getting no media coverage whilst 433 which was purported to be the front runner only managed 21, hehe.

Hope the album is out by late summer.
I'm just glad that Biffy will get paid whenever it gets payed.

Nobody HAS to buy the X Factor winner's single

Is that not a great achievement in itself?
I'm too young to remeber the original, but will always remember the song after it was used in the sountrack of Full Metal Jacket.....
I just hope the old dudes are still alive to claim their royalties.

Fantastic achievement for him and I agree with those that said its because its a great song, sung well rather than because its the X Factor winner.
My favourite winner since Leona and Alexandra
