First of all, the deal on play.com has now gone, the game is back to £34.99.
Now, onto my questions. How long does fallout NV take to complete 100%? Is there a particular way to play e.g good or evil character? And finally, how long before it becomes interesting or fun?
Please bear in mind, I have never played a full game of fallout before and therefore have these noobish questions.
Thanks in advance:)

I'm on my second play I did all the side quests and the unmarked quests and clocked up 110 hours!. (Independent ending)
I'm now going to try the alternate endings I havent done yet.
Been playing the main quests before indulging myself into some side quests. The main quests seem pretty good and am sure I will play some of the side ones if they are worth it?
I'm very impressed with the graphics considering the size of the game they're very good. Likewise with the gameplay I'm very impressed everything moves instantly.
On to the negative points. I find that when traveling across the map I get bored a lot quicker than I do on red dead redemption, unless there is a quick way to do it? I have come across a bug also. This bug is when I'm shooting someone it reckons they have no life left yet they're still alive. Luckily, not had any problems with the game crashing or anything to that severity.
Overall, for £17.99 it is a very good game but I don't think I would be saying that if I had to pay £40 for it.
So if I was to recommend it I would say buy it when it is cheaper.
Please remember I have only just started the game so this review could change at any time.:)
When you "discover" a location, it shows up as a symbol on your Pip-Boy map, and allows you to "Fast Travel" to that location.
Ok thanks for that:) Like the title says I'm a noob with this game:D
Another question quick question. As you progress through the game does it always feel really quiet or does more things happen? Like earlier I travelled a hell of a long way and saw 2 geckos that was it.
It is a bit more barren than Fallout 3 (though the bloody tunnels in that were the same) but there are some areas that are teaming with deathclaws and the like.
Also as you progress and become hated by some factions you'll be able to fight them too.
Though some parts are pretty deserted.
Also if you go off paths you are more likely to encounter things.
I went off the paths earlier and got lost. I think it was because it puts all the objectives on the same compass and I think I may have started to follow the wrong one:o Did get into one hell of a fight with them bighorn things:D
If you follow the main quest line, then this will bring you into places where you can find more side quests as well, (just talk to anyone who has a name and you'll find more quests)
If you want to do everything before finishing the main quest(where the game ends), then stop the main quest before you 'commit' yourself to fight for a particular faction(The game will flash a message when you get to this point, warning you the decision is final). You have a long way till this point though .
One thing I found is be careful who you kill, as this can causes quests to be unavailable and hence failed.(sometimes its unavoidable though, if you are fighting for a particular faction)
Eg first time I played I killed all the brotherhood of steel and missed out on quite an interesting quest line.
There is a lot less random encounters with people / enemies on the world map than in Fallout 3, this is both a good thing and a bad thing, In Fallout 3 you would often end up fighting a number of enemies just on your way to a mission area which would deplete you ammo and health and could become quite annoying if all you want to do is get from place A to place B, without these though New Vegas feels an emptier world.
When heading to a location on the map if you walk towards the empty triangles (That represent undiscovered locations) you will be more likely to find people some friendly some enemies.
Is there a route you would recommend? Is Vegas better then the wastelands?
Don't expect much from Vegas, it's nothing special in comparison to the rest of the game. Still great game though.
One that avoid Deathclaws at all costs!!
From GoodSprings head south to Primm, then to Nipton, then to Novac. From there head to New Vegas. Do or start the quests along this route as you will pick up some companions. Once you hit New Vegas further quests will open up the rest of the game.
There is a shorter route through Hidden Valley but you may stray into a Deathclaw zone.
Yeah, I tried going that way on my second playthrough... what a mistake that was!
Used to be able to head shot kill a deathclaw in 2 or 3 shots(sneak kill) on very hard (guns 100, level 30). ). now it takes much longer.
I'll 2nd that avoid Deathclaws at all costs unless you get Anabelle which does quite a lot of damage to those pesky Deathclaws.
I keep hearing that this game is extremely buggy but apart from longer loading times after a few hours play (which can be fixed by restarting the game & clearing the games cache on launch on 360), Ive not really had any problems.
I've not had any problems and I play on the PS3.
I've had the odd crash and lockup but a tip someone said on the other fallout new vegas thread was that as long as you save regulary the crashes aren't really much of an issue.
I clocked 23 hours at the game over screen. That was with doing every sidequest that I naturally came across. Then again, I did have Boone as a companion + Sneak/Guns 100 so I was going through vaults etc in 15 minutes.
Now I have to load a previous save, and use internet guides to find all the other quests like Jacobstown etc...
I don't know how long it takes to complete because I only played fallout 3, but if it is anything like that (and I heard it was very similar), how long it takes to complete really depends on how much time you spend exploring and doing side quests.
It's not a game you should rush. A lot of the side quests in 3 were more interesting than the main quest. If all you did was the main quest you could probably complete it in just a few hours.
First run through took 45 hours, but that was mainly just the main quest line and a few side quests I came across whilst doing this.
Mind you, in Oblivion one play through I did clocked up over 250 hours!!!, (That was with KOTN and The Shivering Isles dlc).
