Anyone else noticed this phenomenon recently that because it's snowy/icy dog owners feel obliged to let their dog foul everywhere and just leave it to freeze instead of picking it up?

Dog Foul
The more I say it the less sense it makes.
I always pick up after Baxter when I'm out, unless he's done it off the path in some undergrowth that I or any random passers by can't get to. I've been a bit lax about picking it up in the back garden during the snow and had to go out and hack at it with the shovel because it had frozen to the ground.
I got her from a rescue 3 years ago, so I cant take the credit really, but if your dog does it on a pavement, dont be a skanky barsteward, pick it up ffs!
They partially freeze and develop a shell like a noxious creme egg....waiting to be stamped on so you slide about a foot across the ground on one leg.
We've always had dogs and they have never done it on the pavement they go into the wooded area as they like their privacy, but if they did by accident or because they couldn't see for the snow 3ft at one point I would have picked it up . I think some owners think it'll melt with the snow or something very annoying though
Oh I dont think it's that personally, I think they are thinking it doesn't matter because no one is out in the cold to see them being a crap dog owner. Pardon the pun lol
haha
Yes, yes indeed I do. I have thrice witnessed through the window bit of my door frame people letting their dogs just jobbie nigh on my doorstep, causing me to roar at the top of my lungs 'get it picked up ya mank' they just ignore me and leave it balanced on the snow, It does do my head in though, snow does not a jobbie unmake.
Or big jobs!
that's a nervous dog who has to poo on the run.
that made me laugh involuntarily.

I know there is ocassionally dog poo at our gate post in the monring..I have had to wipe it off my kids shoes many times before they have got to school..it is a pet peeve of mine to those who dont pick it up..
That is gross
I had a cat that kept doing it on a neighbours mat. They only knew when they set up a camera in the end as it was happening so much.
2 mats I had to go pick up & bin, that was after they found out what cat it was. I had to let her go. How would I have stopped her doing it unless I stopped her going out altogether? And that would have been more unfair.
The neighbour was pregnant too bless her, which made it more disgusting!
I have to say that over the years I've developed a healthy dislike of dog owners. Their damn mutts nearly always snarl, bark, jump up or try to sniff me. When I complain the person holding their leash often ignores me. I don't think I've ever known one to remonstrate the animal for its actions.
I don't much like cats either but at least the owners can't be held responsible for them(*). But dog owners can train their animals to be better behaved - I guess a lot of them just can't be bothered these days.
(*)Although the world would be a better place with fewer of them around.
I was threatened with legal action about mine. The guy wasn't nasty about it, couldn't really blame him. If he wanted an outdoor mat, that's his right, he didn't have to put up with a cat fouling on it & having to keep buying new ones.
I still pick up after my dog in the snow ..... it keeps my hands warm till I get to the bin to dump the bag
But legal action? Nah. I doubt that's even possible. Cats belong to a select group of animals that the law tends to ignore. Just too independently minded to control
Edit:Assuming it is animals rather than half drunk yobs on their way home from the pub.
Oh I dunno, I mean, what would someone do if it went on & on for months/years. There must be a way to prosecute owners surely?
I asked them to try the water thing, they reckon they had tried everything, even the pepper, & a plant that is supposed to put cats off next to the door.
It was very strange. She just took a dislike to their mats! lol
There are of course those who still leave their animals dooings on the pavement and it is to these people I wish some sort of karmic comeuppance. It fair boils my brassicas so it does.
