How many people make a conscious decision to watch The Queens Speech every year ? Can't remember the last time I watched , get some snippets on the news , that's enough for me.

I cant remember the last year I saw it. But I wouldn't mind seeing Keith Lemons one this year.
    Not Keith Lemon, Louis Spence!

Never watched one in my life. Plus my family aren't the traditional Christmas BS, Queen's speech-watching type, thankfully.

Apparently, it's going to have a very sporting theme this year.

My mum insists we watch it each year.

It used to be a chore when I was a kid, but I've grown to quite like the tradition.

    Snap.

In my dotage I've warmed to the Queen and her message. I dislike the trailing though, kind of makes the actual message redundant.

Only so we can poke fun at how annoying, expensive to taxpayer and out of touch- the royals are.

Never seen it. I support the institution of the monarchy but I have no interest in hearing what she's got to say.

Much prefer C4's alternate message, usually from someone way more in touch with the general public.

Queen's Speech was mandatory viewing when my grandad was alive though.

I don't mind watching the Queen's speech, but I don't believe that she means everything she says, or, that she really feels for the less fortunate in society. William, on the other hand, he's seen and mixed with homeless people ..... so has Harry ..... I think. I like to watch it, but only to hear what she's got to say, that's all.

Anybody seen Frank Gallaghers (banned) alternative Christmas Speech on Youtube?

I'm waiting for her to speak her own mind, never mind been told what to say.

I make a conscious decision to avoid her message at all costs. If i discover that it's on in my living room i make the extra effort to turn it off! I don't like the royals, and i don't particularly care what they have to say, least of all while i'm eating my Christmas dinner, lol.

    This year it's N'Dubz apparently........personally, i'd prefer the Queen.

Yes, I enjoyed it again. A gentle, positive message, just what we need.

Christmas wouldn't be complete in our house without the Queen's speech :)

bible bit was a bit of history on the King James version, leading to an emphasis on the message of treat others as you want to be treated. All good :)
