I don't think so! Eccentric old ladies with great wealth and status can do what they want. Eccentric POOR old ladies, yes, they may well have been sectioned.
Hmm, interesting.... The "upper classes" couldn't be seen to be making fools of themselves....
Well I've read a fair amount about the Raj, and I believe that it would have been quite a status symbol to bring staff back with you.
Staff, yes, but your personal secretary, never, I think... That person knew your most intimate details, and still does (in royal circles)... But I don't want to argue about it...

At the end of the day, it's a fictional television drama, and they have chosen a Sikh secretary as a device to show that Eileen Atkins' character is a bit out of the ordinary. And because Art Malik needs to be on my television more often.

The upstairs one broke, so downstairs had to give them theirs.
Not at all, you can do what you want if you've got enough money and status.
Too much of a "new-fangled" instrument... I think that was quite a realistic scene...
Isn't he fab? I really like him.
I hope the baby doesn't die. I've been convinced that either he or Keeley Hawes is going to die.
Not really, they were locked away too
Please make it Keeley Hawes hehe
Is Pritchard the butler? He did a good job there
Depends what they did. Coming back from the Raj with a Sikh servant is hardly sectionable.
Yea he's fantastic!
Haha I thought the baby would die then..I'm so morbid.
Would have been very iffy unless that person was actually a servant... and she has that monkey running wild...

I'm betting sometime this/next week we'll get a confirmation.

Yes,the TV ratings for the first two episodes were excellent : I'm pretty sure we'll see a full series now
