I have always wondered this.
I just measured mine and it is 34 inches at the belly button.
What about everybody else. I am also 6 foot 2.
I need to know this because I don't believe the average waist sizes given by whatever statistics are being bandied around.

 and I always thought I was small.
I'm 5' 7" and have a 28" waist.
tho, i'm 7 months pregnant
30" is great It's when you're heading for a 36" that you should worry.
I wear a 28" in jeans...got to accommodate the arse somehow
When i was 29" I bought 30" anyway & wore with a belt. Now that I am 30" I still wear a belt all the time even though i don't need one as I am so used to it i feel underdressed otherwise. I was able to buy some 29" trousers in Next, also in the boys childrens section of department stores
Gave me a chuckle.
That's good, especially when you consider that the average is 32".
That's one of the main reasons I buy Diesel jeans, because they do a 28" waist
My local Next don't seem to stock any jeans with a waist size smaller than 32".
Yes. At the belly button.
I measure my waist an inch above my belly button, since that's where my waist is
Is that like a 22/24 womens sizing?
I get very confused with sizing as a M&S 12 is very different to a Next 12 (for example)
6 foot
normal
Edit just looked at my jeans label, it says 29".:o
Is theat where a man's waist is supposed to be? Seems too low to me.
I'm the same. As long as they fit it doesn't matter. I usually try them on beforehand anyway.
No that's absolutely right and is the appropriate place.
Seems to high to me...do you wear your trousers up over your belly button?
No but I did wear trackies under my school uniform
