And even though I'd like Amira to return for a couple of episodes to tie up loose ends and finally close that chapter, a surrogacy storyline would be far more interesting. I think it would be rather contrived if Chryed start talking about having a family of their own and then suddenly Amira turns up on their doorstep with baby Syed!
Although, in my mind, Qadim has forced Amira to have an abortion so no baby Syed now exists
I fully expect it to lead to Amira's baby...and another big opportunity wasted...and side-stepping all of the interesting issues that they could explore with adoption/surrogacy...*sigh*

I don't know, I can't see EE not bringing baby Syed in somehow if they are going down the start a family route. It may not be how we think. Maybe Syed will find out about the baby but Amira/Qadim will refuse to let him see it, leaving him to know his baby is out there, but move on and have a family with Christian?
And even if the end point is baby Syed, then as long as they fully explore the surrogacy etc before she turns up, it could work.

Unless they go through the whole surrogacy progress and have a baby of their own.....and then Amira somehow finds out and decides to turn up with baby Syed, completely throwing a spanner in the works? This could work - it would allow for all the interesting issues that comes with surrogacy/adoption whilst also allowing for an Amira return too.

Would Roxy really offer to do this? I don't understand why she would because it's not just for Christian, it's for Syed too. Does she have some massive change of heart about them as a couple? Is it guilt about the Amy thing? But Roxy doesn't do guilt does she?
Syed might accept for Christian's sake, but it's hard to imagine him wanting to be in a position where he owes Roxy anything.
These...if it's what we think I just really despair, if we think Corrie are in a race for a CP then this kind of smacks of something similar to me.
Syed and Amira's baby turning up is one thing and the boys shocked, coping and turning out to be loving dads or just having the knowledege that Syed is a dad and not having the baby could make them think that way in time. But at this stage in their relationship to consider surrogacy already...urghh!! With all the stories they could do with them this is the first big one they can think of?
Why on earth does Christian then think Syed would want Roxy as the mother of his and Christian's child...a constant in both their lives. She openly dislikes Syed. Even if she has a change of heart because of the way Syed forgives Christian over NY if I was Syed I'd want to keep her at a distance. She might have a change of heart but I wouldn't! Really Roxy in your babies gene pool? No thanks! The little mite would be spiking all the beakers at mother and toddlers.
I really hope it doesn't happen and they get back to some properly thought out and decent material for the boys instead of this 'what can we do with them next?' type of thing. There's so much in their story already that they haven't even touched or hardly touched...or just skimmed over. I'd like to see Syed in his new job....Christian coping with a sprained ankle, Syed getting hassle from fellow muslims...Tamwar sneaking Kamil over...age concerns , different interests...more Yusef... Amira's baby news...more Masood family involved drama and the Beale's lots of things before surrogacy.:(

I think it's because she likes Christian that she may make that offer.....she can't stand Syed and he can't stand her though! I'd love it if they build on this dislike for each other more though, I can imagine them tolerating each other for Christian's sake but starting to bicker and make it more obvious that they really don't like each other, with Christian then caught up in the middle of it all! Roxy needs to accept that Chryed are together now.....like Christian once said, "get cool with it or else you'll be out of it!"
I can see this happening like between Christian and Zainab, who hopefully will have more scenes of them tolerating one another for Syed's sake.

Yes, and screentime - there better be!!! I prefer the surrogacy/adoption route too, especially topical at the moment, and it could open up all kinds of sub plot's too. Eg, Jane - how will she feel about her brother having the one thing she wants but can't have? Zainab and Masood - how will they feel about Syed starting a family with his boyfriend, would they want to be a part of their grandchild's life? Roxy - if she does offer to be a surrogate, how will this affect her friendship with Christian, and how will their friendship affect Chryed's relationship? Tamwar - how will he feel about his brother starting a family with his boyfriend? Might it even affect Kat's friendship with the boys after the loss she's going to suffer? Syed - does he really want to start a family or is he just agreeing to it because it's what Christian wants and he wants to make him happy?
Lots of possibilities, I think it could be quite good!

I hate to say it, as we know Christian isn't like this really, but maybe TPTB have him become so wrapped up in the idea of wanting a baby...and then his best friend offers to have one for him...his dream...he gets the baby he wants with someone who he knows is a friend and wouldn't (in his mind) cause problems.
ETA: And, of course, Roxy will be whispering encouraging things in Christian's ear...how it is such a good idea.
This is the sad part...this has been the richest story they've ever had for me.. and it scares me if they can't see it.
The Chryed story for me and the way it's been acted has made it better than soap..but is this where they start to let it slide? I just hope not.

16th October - Shelza and Steph go to Oceana Watford to meet Johnny. Johnny tells Shelza that there is a big CHRYED storyline coming up and is looking forward to filming it.

There's so much in their story already that they haven't even touched or hardly touched...or just skimmed over. I'd like to see Syed in his new job....Christian coping with a sprained ankle, Syed getting hassle from fellow muslims...Tamwar sneaking Kamil over...age concerns , different interests...more Yusef... Amira's baby news...more Masood family involved drama and the Beale's lots of things before surrogacy.:(
It's like them being together isn't enough... more flipping enriching they don't need!
That was just off the top of my head after one cup of tea...surely they could come up with better than this for what has been for me the best ever EE storyline.
Roxy - It must be her offering to be a surrogate mother.. Hmm, can't exactly see Syed (especially) agreeing to that.

I hate to say it, as we know Christian isn't like this really, but maybe TPTB have him become so wrapped up in the idea of wanting a baby...and then his best friend offers to have one for him...his dream...he gets the baby he wants with someone who he knows is a friend and wouldn't (in his mind) cause problems.
ETA: And, of course, Roxy will be whispering encouraging things in Christian's ear...how it is such a good idea.

The Chryed story for me and the way it's been acted has made it better than soap..but is this where they start to let it slide? I just hope not.
Maybe they do..let's hope he stops and considers Syed's feelings..a baby is for life for both of them not just Christian.
And you know Roxy would want to stick her oar in. Yes it's screen time and could be drama with all the angst but urghh! Sorry best word I can think of.
I think it'll be a good storyline and open up lots of different avenues to explore
Plus, it'll lead to lots of screentime and Chryed actually having a storyline of their own rather than being involved in other people's stories, which can only be a good thing IMO
Of course there are still so many other issues to explore but I think these will be looked at over the course of the year

clearly the next logical step is your boyfriend to suggest having a baby. suggesting you use the devil spiker troll as the egg is a further step for rationality, sense, and empathy.
