Morning!
some you guys were chatting ALL NIGHT I hope you realise
I'm looking forward to comedic light relief of Zainab and Bushra picking Tam a wife/waitress. They should just make Bushra a regular, it's always classy when she's there.
Isn't Roxy offering to surrogate for Chryed at this point, given her sister's distress... just a bit like "showing off"?
It's nice the soap magazine is doing some sort of edumacational options for gay people to have babies as well as exploring the storyline, that made me laugh.
Morning Glowbie
BIB - You're right, that would be insensitive, but it wouldn't be the first time they've gone the insensitive route. I'd actually be very annoyed if they do the surrogacy (and only the surrogacy and not bring back Syed's child as well). What's the point of building a baby over nine long months, when EE knows there's a ready made one out there flapping in the wind there for the taking? I wouldn't mind if they start the surrogacy storyline and in the midst of it find out that Amira already had one of those, and that's the spanner in the mix.
Since we have to accept that Chryed will be having a baby whether it's too soon or not, I hope TPTB think it through and not just throw something at us.
Hi
I just popped in to say Happy New Year to Buttercup, but I guess she's not here. Just heard on the news, it's 2011 already in NZ. She must be celebrating!
Of course am now completely perplexed by this new spoiler... I fear we may be getting ahead of ourselves (us? we? getting ahead of ourselves??... never!!!) but let's get one thing straight : Christian, do not even consider this!! Syed, give your veto. Roxy as surrogate mum to your child is the worst idea ever. The worst. Ever.
I get it that she's Christian's mate, I can make allowances for that... but still.... She doesn't like Syed. She's openly makes venomous remarks about him. She is jealous of him. She spikes his drink, and thinks that is alright. After tonight she will be encourageing Christian to keep lying to Syed...
I could go on...
But as I say... let's not get ahead of ourselves...
Can't stay, but will be back in a few hours' time...
I think this surrogacy storyline could be really interesting and involve/affect loads of different characters.
My initial reaction would be that Roxy wants to do it because she's always wanted to be with Christian (if he wasn't gay, let's face it, she'd happily be with him!) so i wouldn't be surprised if she'd rather do it 'properly' rather than the turkey baster....
Plus, it brings back to mind the foreshadowing of Christian telling Jane that Ian's kids would never actually be hers so I can see him wanting to have a biological child. Then you'll get Jane's reaction for her brother being able to have a child while she can't and whatever Mitchell reaction (Ronnie esp) to Roxy having another child and one that's she won't be keeping at that...
As for Syed... if his own sporglet makes an appearance it would be interesting if it does AFTER Roxy gets preggers... because for the drama for the Masoods I think would only truly come into play if it's Syed's biological child...
There are quite a few ways to go with this and I'm quite looking forward to it. Screentime! (good enough for me:sleep:)

TBH there isn't exactly a great selection of surrogate mums in Albert Square, you have to pick between a women who had an almost affair with a man who left her brother to die, a women who tried to murder her husband, a woman who swaps a baby to replace her dead son.....I could go on

I think you could be right
Christian - don't do it, step away from the girly bits!

I want a good storyline, damn it!
BIB totally agree!! I'd way prefer it if it was Amira and Syed's baby instead of surrogacy, also it would probably make for a better storyline!
I really hope TPTB do it well, and don't rush it and end it too quickly
Christian - don't do it, step away from the girly bits!
Can you imagine if Roxy did want to sleep with Chrisian to get pregnant  LOL!!!! I have a feeling Christian would flee in the opposite direction...back into bed with Syed
OT- I think Steven, Lucy and Peter should all come back together an rebel against Ian and take over all his buisnesses (Although it has to be Aaron, Mellisa and Tom and not recasts)
Sorry that was completey random and OT Ignore me, Carry on as you were :o

I actually think the opposite - that a surrogacy storyline would be far more interesting than Amira's ready-made baby! I can think of lots of different scenario's for a surrogacy but I struggle thinking of what they could do with a ready-made baby
4. Amiraspawn. Obviously. I'm kind of hoping this is, in the words of Mas on 22nd April, going to "just...go away". It's a massive potential s/l for TPTB to drop and leave untouched, but it woudn't be the first time and I'd applaud them if they decide there's more mileage in the surrogacy route. Of course, that doesn't mean that Amira & kid can't turn up at some point in the future...(there's part of me hoping if they're going to use Amira again, they do it sooner rather than later. The longer it's left, the greater the danger that they'll roll out her and Masood Jr when Marc E decides he wishes to leave the show ).
BIB -:eek::eek: *rocks back of forward hoping he dies instead*

just poppin' in to say 'HALLO Part 111'-lovely number to start the New Year with:). Also, HAPPY NYE kiss anniversary everybody!!
/ignores not so happy P-Day:sleep:.
Any new spoilers since yesterday afternoon:rolleyes:??

that's true but with Amira's baby they could go through the whole custody s/l, I think the surrogacy could be good but think it would be better with Amira's baby because the way she left, rubbing her stomach clearly left it open that something would come out of that, I just think it would be better to choose the baby that's already out there rather than a surrogate one
IMO
In a way,you have to give credit to TPTB for raising all these issues, aimed at a huge viewing public,to raise awareness of the various social problems the British people face in 21st Century Britain.
Trouble is,in trying to cover so many topics, they tend to shortchange the viewers by bringing stuff in and then leave the themes hanging-incidents are forgotten and never mentioned again,or issues are skirted round and left unresolved.
The current s/l,s are a case in point.IMO it,s in bad taste to cover such traumatic topics for purely ratings.A newborn baby death is something unimaginable for most of us-to use it to advance a character development(Ronnie) is unforgivable.
The Chryed baby line is also misjudged IMO.Why they feel it is necessary to have this unusual and groundbreaking relationship become mired in surrogacy/adoption so very soon in the story is obviously down to sensationalism--not a natural development of the story.
Sadly,I think we forget this is a "soap"-normal rules don,t seem to apply here. However, when TPTB forget what people will accept as a possible reality, they do us all a disservice.
I WANT TO BELIEVE WHAT I SEE!(or at least imagine these things are possible for the characters).Without that,it,s all completely pointless and becomes a bit of a joke.
I WANT Chryed to develop as a real couple.
i WANT them to become real people to me
I WANT them to have a relationship, which in due course will involve them in deciding thier longterm future, which may or may not include children, acquired by whatever means.
I WANT TO BELIEVE in these people as reality, with all their baggage in ruined relationships and the possibility of final acceptance of their partnership.
For me, the forthcoming baby s/l is not relevant.Until we get a resolution of the outstanding issues still unresolved, family grief, religeous conflict etc,it,s something that is just a ratings puller.Chryed deserve better than this.IMO,it,s rather sad that TPTB feel the need to resort to this situation.Chryed are pure gold for EE--for God,s sake, treat EE viewers as adults and develop this couple for what they are.Exceptional, groundbreaking and (thanks to the wonderful actors)totally believable. You really don,t need to introduce ridiculous s/l,s to move this story forward-it may be good for ratings, but at some point belief becomes suspended when the s/l,s are so silly.
Sorry, long rant.I feel it is so sad that after all we have been through(and the characters too,of course)TPTB seem to think we are such a gullible lot that we will accept anything!:(

I don't really think there's much of a storyline to be had from the custody thing unless Amira dies though. Cos no court would ever give Chryed full custody over the mother so it would all be wrapped up pretty quickly IMO.
However, if Amira was to die, then that would pave the way for an interesting custody storyline. I can imagine Chryed, Qadim and Zainab/Masood all going for custody!
Not that I'm advocating for Amira to be killed off......
OT (kinda, stil about EE )
basically me and my sister were watching old EE eps yesterday, (we watched 'you aint my muvva' and the whole of the aftermath ) and we also watched the ep with Demi Miller and her boyfriend Leo, do you remember that? It was like romeo and juliet the way they did it Leo thought Demi had OD'd so he OD'd but then she woke up and found him dying
we were watching that ep and Leo's mum is played by the woman who plays Julie in EE now!! we were really excited, thinking that we'd figured out the storyline and Leo was going to be Billy's son (:p:o) but her name as Leo's mum was Trish
