Janices accent sounds a bit like Jane Horrocks who's from Rawtenstall - that exaggerated burr in those Tesco ads "Sorreeetud"
Chris' accent seems to slip around, not sure whether he's trying for a local accent? I think Sally Webster plays it as though she's trying to be "posh" - fits in with the character!
Chris Gascoyne is from Nottingham, so that fits - but Peter was supposed to have been raised in Scotland!
Chris Gascoyne is from Loughborough, actually. [/QUOTE]
Chris Gascoyne is from Huthwaite in Nottinghamshire, his parents used to have a fruit and veg shop there, some of his relatives still live there and he is often spotted in the area when he visits them
I was a little surprised to hear that Angela Wynter, who played Yolande in Eastenders, is actually British. The actress who plays Grace, Mercy's grandma, has a British accent too. The name Ellen Thomas is a bit of a giveaway though!

In my defence, that's been changed since I last read it! not that I can prove it, of course!
