When you plug the camera in does a drive (like when you plug a usb memory stick in) appear in my computer? If so then go to that and you will find the pics from your camera in there.
The other alternative is to buy a card reader, a cheap pund-shop job will do, if you don't fancy splashing out.
Is your laptop reasonably new? Does it not have a slot in the side to put the card? Mine does, a 3 year old laptop, and you just stick the card in the side and the options pop up on the screen. I also have a printer with a card reader in, that does the same.

Thanks. I've tried plugging it in but keep getting the same message 'Installation failed'. Is a card reader something you put your card into & insert into the computer? Forgive me, I'm a complete technophobe

Thanks for the reply. It is quite new (about 5 months) but I can't find anything that would fit an sd card.
Have a look on the sides and it should say in small writing SD.MS/Pro.MMC at the side from your keyboard. There must be a wide thin slot on the side of your laptop. I´ve never known such a new one to not have this feature. Look in your manual for the laptop.

Yeah you got it spot on Saves having to faff around with plugging in the camera etc.

Actually, it does say multicard reader on the sticker. I just can't find the place for it to go. It won't fit as it is in any of them!!
I'm so crap when it comes to stuff like this lol!
I've gotta get ready to go out now so will check the manual when I get back.

Thanks for your help
It could be that there is a dummy card in the slot that you need to take out before you can put the card in.
I'm so stupid! It's on the front of the laptop & I was only checking the sides.
Thanks peeps
Did the camera come with any software, you might need to load this to your computer
