Last Night on Radio Borders seen the end of the Sunday Getherin' a Scottish/Traditional/local artist Music show that was penciled to lasted 6 weeks, in 2003 lasted for 7 and a half years till Sunday 24th April 2011.
Bauer Scotland are now networking Sunday Evenings from 7pm now all the way through to 6am on Monday Morning.
Karin Ingram, host of the Sunday Getherin' finished off with a lump in your throat song from local artist Craig Jeffrey and the Simple Touch.

Although the music has a niche market, the facebook group page and general disgust from people around the Borders was apparent. Community Radio's gain though. Karin Ingram broke the news on her Facebook page after her show that she was going to be back as normal this Sunday 8-10pm on TD1 Radio www.td1radio.com which from a Community Radio point of view, is only positive.
Up shot is though on Bauer, the FM stations will have 8 hours of local programming only on Sunday now. as 4pm is the chart show. 7-10pm from this Sunday is "In Demand uncut" with Jim Gellatly with 'All the freshest new tunes around Scotland'

That's not to say I agree with the networking - indeed, I am very fearful for Radio Borders' future if the networking is extended any further - but sadly that is the way the radio industry works these days. Although, having said that, one benefit of the networking has been the reintroduction of live overnights on the FM stations.
Wired is being moved apparently to 3pm's on Sunday before the chart show. Which at the moment is a problem as RB are covering the 7s competitions, and are doing the chart themselves rather than going to Rich and Kat at 4pm.
Wired is recorded on Thursday Nights these days, not live anymore.
As Wired features people I know and of similar age to me, I have to say find it at times a bit 'childish', A chap i know who used to do Wired said it's 99% scripted, nothing like it used to be.It's not quite like the Class 2001 days when it all started with Bobby Taylor etc!

Karin Ingram's Interview with TD1's Steve Paterson earlier this evening on the continuation of the Sunday Getherin' at it's new home...http://snd.sc/f3BG9w
http://www.bauermedia.co.uk/Press-Office/News/Bauer-Media-Scotland-Increase-Commitment-to-New-Music/ Also seems the way BBC local radio is going with loss of specialist shows, hope they also keep "Introducing" going on local stations. There is a chance for new artists to get material on Amazing or the internet, but it does not have the same impact as a local FM station.
edit notice not the best name for a show as D and : turn into smiley faces on the forum!
BTW, despite my gripe against more networking it is good to hear Jim back on Northsound.:)
The Monday night show was going for 10 years before that! Class '91 was the original incarnation of the programme, on a Monday from 6 until 7. True local radio.
I seem to remember it was Kevin Young and his 'posse' that presented Class '91.
This is making me feel old!
It's an internet radio station (www.td1radio.com).
Ah, so it's an INTERNET station rather than a COMMUNITY station...
It is, but they have put in for an FM licence.
By the way - good to welcome another forumer from Duns!
The"Gethering" will also be broadcast on Celtic Music Radio www.celticmusicradio.net .
Their tech staff are currently working out how to bring the program to 1530 in Glasgow, it is expected that it will be scheduled on Sundays 22:00 - 00:00 stay tuned
Has a second licence for the borders been advertised?
It sounds rubbish. Typical parochial shite. No wonder it got dumped!
From what I've heard on td1 so far it'll fit in quite well
now it may have escaped your notice but "parochial" is what LOCAL radio should be.
Instead we have been landed with a networked service which is run solely to feed profits to the borg parent company  Give us more "parochial" radio, we will then have a better more diverse service as a result . What fits in London / Glasgow / Edinburgh does not necessarily fit in Duns or TD1
The FM Community Radio Licences have been re-opened again, For Scotland it's later on in the year. Which in the area TD1 Radio plans to apply for. Borders has only one other community radio in 'Brick FM' that plays loop recordings or relays of other radio stations, quite how they got a FM license is beyond me.
Idiot post again Nelad eh... Show is nothing parochical.... It plays music like this:

Hardly churchy
Churchy??
Parochical doesn't mean parish!
Errr....
pa·ro·chi·al/pəˈrōkēəl/Adjective
1. Of or relating to a church parish.
You forgot to mention:
3. Narrowly restricted in scope or outlook; provincial: parochial attitudes.
Which I would say was the context of the use of the word.
