Are we actually going to see any aliens behind this, or was the Miracle caused by humans who stole alien technology? I'll be pretty disappointed if we never see any (proper) aliens.

This week was much better for me More jack and Gwen something sadly lacking the last few weeks,
- the 3 men who 'bought' jack had a 'triangle' handshake,
- The blood collected from Jack - maybe important in miralce plot?
- insight into relationship bewteen Jack & Gwen
- insight into Jacks character, including just how terrible jacks condition (immortality) can be.
Gay porn? we didn't actually see anything except a bit of backside! If thats what you think is porn then what do you call scenes in shows with bare boobs, d**k and c*nt?

The premise is a strong one, and it wouldn't have been difficult to turn it into a gripping 10-part serial in the hands of a decent writer. But this is just a mess, with no sense of narrative or pacing whatsoever.
Well - after watching tonights episode - the only theory I can come up with is - that Angelo has somehow managed to change the past to create a future whereby Jack becomes mortal - and thus - Jack will be able to be with Angelo, since his reason for leaving him was because he was immortal.
But then how the hell has Angelo managed to live this long :D
Could someoen please explain how this shagging is relevant to the plot?
As far as I understand it is that Jack and Angelo will meet again in the future. We think the taking of the phial of Jack's blood is something to do with it.
Agreed. Some sloppy writing. And I'm getting cheesed off with the gay bits now, not relevent to the story and it's getting shoved in your face all the time.

Watching a Gay relationship just makes me feel uncomfortable, but that's a personal preference and shouldn't be taken as an insult by anyone. It definitely wasn't porn though. There wasn't much skin or anything. Just a relationship, which I found uncomfortable watching a bit.
Agreed that the back story feels like an excuse for the "controversial" gay sex scenes. I don't have a problem with it myself, but even if it were a heterosexual couple, it would have been too much!
You simply don't need all the sex to portray a love story.
The last 5 minutes or so were brilliant. I still enjoyed the episode but it (Jack's story) was all just too much.

Much as I found the sex scenes difficult to watch, I still found that to be an excellent episode.
I freely admit that I hate almost all of what RTD did to Doctor Who, but this episode shows that he can write first class sci-fi. If only his four series of Who had been this good.

The gay content this time round was pretty relevant to the plot. I didn't actually find it that uncomfortable to watch. Instead, I was just a bit bored. The problem for me was that they made such a big thing about Angelo that the big "reveal" at the end inspired nothing more than a shrug of the shoulders -- it just had to be him.

I think it just highlights how un-mainstream it is seeing a gay love scene. Pity really as it wasn't graphic, just passionate, and what's wrong with that?
