I think she's had a good start - The Super Bowl performance was praised by critics, the pre-orders for the album were through the ceiling, and tour dates are selling out across the world as they are being released. Also, she's working with Orbit again.
The only fault would be GMAYL - I think it's a fun, catchy song, and it's certainly not the worst out there, but critics' reviews were average. Plus, chart success has been lacking.
She's shooting a new video this week, for the next single "Girls Gone Wild".
I think she's become an Album/Touring artist now.:)
Well Madonna coming back and MDNA are definitely the music events of the year
To be honest she couldnt have had a better start for the era, Masterpeice winning its award, her many quotable interviews, her massive Super Bowl Performance and critical reviews and ratings SMASH, MDNA topping pre-order charts in a new record set etc. It is amazing stuff. Also there have been controversies "lawsuits" etc already for the album name, the lead single and the next single already :-O....Only Madonna
I really also believe that Madonna across her career has always focused on her albums as well as her singles and tours for the majority of her career. I mean across her career until Hard Candy she basically spent a lot of time recording the perfect possible material and visuals to promote the album...whether the songs topped the charts or not didnt matter...the fact that mostly they would was the bonus! And the fact that with a successful album her tours always sold out across the globe. No in recent years with Hard Candy she focused mainly on the tour and a bit on album promo.
This era looks set as she geniunely believes in the MDNA album and concept and creatively she is at a peak so i do hope that with "Wild" as the next single she will get more casual listeners in tune with the album and grasp more attention...sure to be a massive Dancefloor smash! Just cannot wait....expect the unexpected with this album campaign.
But Madonna - Orbit, Solveig, Bennassi, The Demolition Crew, Indiigo Muanza, MIA, Michael Malih and Minaj.......this is set to be a very multi-functional album!
I really hope she puts effort into this era and doesn't just use MDNA as an excuse to tour which she has to do to fulfill her contract. I hated hearing her say on Graham Norton that she's doing anotherr tour to. 'pay the bills'. I get the impression her heart and soul is in W.E and the music side is just what she's doing for a 'job':(
Well W/E was her baby for 2 years but sadly, it has bombed majorly. I am sure she really loves doing Music but so much of her attention was on a film for so long.

Gawd, W.E. has absolutely tanked.:D
I love her, but...
Anyway, at least we've got the good stuff coming.
The video for "girls gone wild" will be shot tomorrow.
In the AT a member posted a statement about the promo for the era (well an indication)
Sounds like there just may be a "promo MDNA Tour" of sorts...maybe similer to Confessions and American Life promo across the world within a fortnight style to get a scope everywhere rather than condensed world tours like the DOnt Tell Me Tour and Candy Shop Tour (BBC Radio 1 Weekend)
Very excited and there will be more performances Sateside this era too which sounds fantastic.
"Here is what someone posted on a Madonna site about the new album and promotion.
MDNA is NOTHING like GMAYL. Even Solveig said they would've changed the lead single had Nicki and M.I.A. not been involved...all of the promotions tie into this as well. There won't be a lot of performances of GMAYL, but there will be performances from the album. Everything is incredibly quiet, on purpose.
Mixes from Price, Orbit and Solveig do exist, and I'm assuming are the bonus tracks on the deluxe version. I've been told they are incredible, some just feature Madonna. From what I've been told this album is very much like Like a Prayer. Some truly amazing songs that will touch and hit close to home with a lot of people, some songs that will make you think, WTF?, and some songs that will just make you move."
" I can reveal that everyone involved with GMAYL was devastated at the leaking of the track, and unlike past times, another choice was made for release. Unfortunately both M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj had worked their releases and promotions around GMAYL and the Super Bowl as well. W.E. wasn't meant to conflict with the album. Nothing has been announced, but she will be doing promo concerts and appearances, a lot in the U.S. "
I am interested in learning what the artwork for the back of the album will look like. Whether there WILL be lyrics (although it seems unlikely) and how long each song lasts for! The single version of GMAYL surely has to be shorter than the album version! I wonder when we'll get the first newspaper reviews!

i think that is Luvin in full really...which i dont mind really.
ANd i cannot wait for more visuals for the era, i hope the video teases more of the kinda vibes and direction for the album as a whole really. And yes song length will paint a much clearer picture.
Some lyrics have "leaked" but apparently there have been changes and its the demo lyrics that were leaked stuff about drinking and being wild, going on a bus and being wild, and pink stuff in cups....it sounds like it will be one of those more weird dance songs really....cannot wait to hear it.
Gimme All Your Luvin was something of a disappointment in my eyes- it wasn't bad, just rather unoriginal and underwhelming considering just how much Madonna is capable of. Hopefully there will be better tracks on the album, as there is certainly a wide range of talented collaborators.

I definitely see your point i mean i like Luvin, but if MIA and Minaj werent on it i personally feel they wouldnt have released it since that leak. And true Madonna can do so so much more and MDNA looks set to boast a lot more creative songs so yeah definitely....i am so psyched for the album as to what sounds will be on there, what types of songs etc.
Her stuff with Orbit is am so so psyched by and intrigued as to what other areas she will experiment with with Solveig and Bennassi etc.

Yes, considering that Madonna gave us possibly THE best pop song ever with Like A Prayer, and gems like Ray of Light, Frozen and Live to Tell, GMAYL is rather tepid! Don't despair though. It's a commercial release designed by Interscope to enhance the career of Nicki Ninja (or whoever she is!)

So true...and people in America actually KNOW who MIA is now!
albeit...maybe the wrong reasons...but she is infamous already thanks to Luvin!
But i have a feeling Wild may be the stomper we needed to launch the era! but Super Bowl is such a feat! But by the sounds of it the whole MDNA concept it will contain everything Madonna is good at....lighter songs, uptempos, anthems, WTF songs, experimental, darker ballads...cannot wait to hear it all.
So far we have hints at heavy promo on the way in March/April.
We have more dates being added left right and centre (cmon UK dates for later in the tour please!)
Mert & Marcus are gonna direct what i call "Nuns gone Wild!" in their directors debut (please be Cherish and not give it 2 me in style!) with M....of course
and in a couple weeks we will hear it in full with a video on the way...and in 5 weeks we will all own the album.
William Orbit has apparently said somebody called Laurie Mayer has contributed to the melody on Falling Free. It's supposed to be a really beautiful song and one I'm looking forward to

ooh must check them out then, maybe an indication of the kind of vibes.
I really hope its a release for the album really it intrigues me...i think this or Love Spent are the songs when Orbit posted on his FB, "you know a great love song has been made when it is better than love itself" or soemthing
Right so far we have Masterpiece heard and won its globe.
Luvin has been released, response very mixed, video very very good.
Super Bowl Performance stellar reviews, most watched Half Time concert ever etc etc. And launched Luvin into the US top 10 and number 8 on the World CHarts.
Now we have "girl gone wild" overall recieved more positive, video is on the way and has been filmed on Thu/Friday last week with Mert & Marcus...should be out next week I reckon.
Songs on the tracklist have been altered...Bday Song (now rumoured without MIA) will be on the Deluxe disc and Love Spent on the standard disc (on both editions) and new song with Bennassi "best friends" is on the deluxe also.
Here is William Orbits mini-interview with the BBC
And it intrigues me even more...i do think they looked at fan/casual listener responses thus far and are changing it up a bit for the final tracklists it looks like.

Now, she's still in the mid-life crisis, but she's working with Orbit again, so she's slowly getting out of that place.:)
I totally agree. Cannot wait for it.:)

very intriguing no?
She's talked about it on Jay Leno. It is short for her name, references the drug MDMA and also "Madonna DNA".:)
